MadDog's Big 254 Board April 11 Edition

Two weeks and counting, thus another step into the darkness with this week's edition of the Big Board. As stated in previous Big Boards, this is NOT A MOCK DRAFT, although I attempt to mock some portions of the early first round. Trades have become so common that attempting to match a team with selection number and player is like plowing the sea. This is also NOT A PLAYER RANKING. It is a projection of where I believe players will fall.

For me, the big movers are Jamar Taylor and Sylvester Williams, who I believe will be selected far earlier than many imagine; Matt Scott, who many teams like due to his mobility; and some late round QB's Ryan Griffin and Sean Renfree. Who knows? Aaron Rodgers little bro might even be drafted.

Enjoy this list because I can tell you it will be altered on my Excel sheet within seconds. Just so many players to squeeze into limited slots. Questions, concerns? Feel free to ask. Hang in there, draft junkies. Life is going to improve very soon. So, clear the calendar from Thursday, April 25 to Saturday, April 27.

Thanks MD! Now you're going to have to follow this up with another post about the 49ers' board. Last time you had DJ Hayden as our BPA at 61, but now you have him scooped up much sooner. I'm bummed to see it because I am hoping for him at 61 after you convinced me of the idea.

I also remember from your last board that you had Rhodes and Vaccaro falling much closer to 31 than I was expecting; in this edition, you have them higher and more in line with "conventional" wisdom (you were lower than the norm before).

Going in the opposite direction, you now have Cordarrelle Patterson falling tantalizingly close to us. I want!

The reports on Cordarrelle Patterson keep getting worse.
There is growing concern about his work and study habitats.
Apparently, his interviews at the combine did not go very well.
Does not have a good grasp of the route tree.

And he remains, a one-year wonder.

But, it is lying season, so who really knows what the teams are thinking.

Strikes me as a boom or bust player. Great potential but high risk.

If he falls to #31, it might best to let him keep falling.

Yeah but the man has Julio Jones measureables....
Crap, you also used to have Fragel in range as a late 4th round swing tackle for us. Now mid 3rd, which I think is a bit early for us to address that need. You have any favorite OT prospects we should target in the ~100 range?

Also, I'd much rather have Patterson than Tavon Austin. I could be wrong and Austin could become the superstar he's being talked about as (and a lot of scouts and writers I trust are glowing in their Austin praise), but I can't help but think he's more Ted Ginn or Peter Warrick than he is Percy Harvin.
Awesome as always MD

Looking to write up a mock this weekend, wanted to ask you your opinion on a few questions I have if you have some time:

1. What's with the love one Sharrif Floyd? Am I off base to say he looks similar to a "Reggie McGrew" coming out of Florida?

2. Will David Amerson be able to transition to FS in the NFL? How well do you think he can be?

3. What happened to William Gholston? From 1st rounder to 3rd-4th rounder, was it his subpar season or is there more to his fall from grace (6'6 3/4 @ 280lbs, not bad)

4. How is Kenjon Barner not mentioned in the same breath as Ace Sanders for KR specialist?

Look forward to seeing your insight for the next few weeks building up to the draft

Could we get the 49ers picks bolded like you usually do? Thanks for producing this updated board. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem as 49er friendly as your previous board.

So does DaRick Rogers. And Rogers is more experienced. Pass on Patterson. Pick Rogers in round 3.
Is it coincidence that you have Phillip Thomas and Rambo both slotted to the 9ers. Also Cyprien and Reid are both close to #31 & #34 respectively? Hedging your bets? Can't wait to see what safety(s) the 9ers will select.
thanks for your work MD

really curious if werner will go in the 1st round or if he will drop even further down.
Bout damn time! Seriously, thanks for doing this!

Wow...starting at 32 there are six players in a row I'd be happy to see the niners grab!
