I know we could possibly use our mid round picks to move up and grab the players we know will fit our system and contribute quickly
but how many of our picks should we trade for next year? .... for example, maybe we will move a 5th rounder this year for a 4th next year? , which would be a smart move being it's unlikely 13 of our draft picks wont make the roster ...so the smart move would be to trade at least two of our picks for better picks next year....IMO anyway , what about you guys ....should we move a couple picks for next year?
as long as we dont trade away any of our first four picks this year , I'm hoping we use those picks for D-Line help, a TE and a safety

We whould trade a few. We could stockpile a few for next year also. Not as many picks as we have can make the roster.

One high and one low maybe. We should have another boat load of relatively high compensatory picks next year too.

Yup ...I'm hoping we swing a deal to grab an extra 3rd and 4th round pick next year
plus use a couple more picks this year to move up and grab the players on our board ........I know Comp picks cant be traded, so I imagine Harbaugh and the staff will get creative with those picks ...sort of like drafting a defensive end and moving him to Fullback

I'm hoping that someone would ask for our first round this year and for us to receive their 1st round next year and a couple of mid-round picks as well..

I'd really like to trade our #31 and our 4th for a 2nd this year and 1st next year!

1st next year would be great, still we need to come out of this draft with a good cb and safety

trent will stockpile as many picks as he has left (excluding compensatories), but he will be dealing until the final buzzer of the draft. He is rapidly turning into the wild man of FA and the draft. So we will put as many picks into next yr as trent has remaining after probably 2 or 3 trades up, and picks for FA players. My guess is there won't be many picks left after trent gets done.

I expect us to maybe trade up to grab a safety, and then do a whole lot of trading back. Aside from FS, there's nowhere else for a rookie to start on our roster.
All the other picks will likely be depth anyway.

The pick we have at #34 is huge...teams will be comming off a night to re-think their draft boards, and it always seems like some one is
willing to give up a first rounder next year and some other pick, or picks in this years draft to move up to get "Their Guy"at the start of rounds 2. If our FO makes a move, this is the spot that will occur...IMO

Baltien, I agree on us moving up for S(maybe CB) and then trading up again to get into that group of terrific DLs and OLs. Who knows, maybe trent surprises us all and takes Tavon. Now THAT would be something, altho with excellent CBs and FSs out there, we really should take one or the other.

I certainly wouldn't mind us grabbing a top tier d-lineman (Margus Hunt!). I suppose it's possible. We do have a lot of picks to play with.

I agree, that might fetch a first next year, the other thing is with 31 and 34 so close the niners could trade their first pick for a second this year and depending on who with, a third this year or second next year. A lot depends on who is there and where the players they want stand on their draft board. Unlike some, I don't see the niners moving up so high (meaning jumping 15 spots or even 12) in the first to mortgage their future. I wouldn't mind depending on their board and who is there, trading the first and moving back to the say the 37th pick along with a third this year or second next year, then if the niners got a third, can maybe either move up into the second by trades and garner three 2nd round picks. I feel there will be lots of value in the 2nd and third round this year. Lots of possibilities.
Wow, to be a fly at 49ers draft HQ, the phones should be super busy, everybody knows the niners have so much picks and that they won't use them all without making a move up, down, and into the future and back.
