Who will be are replacements for next year's free agent departures?

With Justin Smith, Anquan Boldin, Jonathan Goodwin, Donte Whitner, Tarell Brown, Mario Manningham, Phil Dawson, Tramaine Brock and Parys Haralson scheduled to become unrestricted free agents after the 2013 season. Who do you see best fit to take over those positions. You can chose From are current players or players we might draft this year.
Thats tough to say until we see how the draft unfolds and who the impending free agents for next year are. I think Justin Smith and Boldin will be brought back. I see Smith finishing his career out as a niner at this point and I remember Boldin mentioning somewhere about hopefully this not being a one year thing.
Shot in the dark time!

Justin Smith: Super Man (will be retained)
Anquan Boldin: Jenkins or Draft Pick this year
Jonathan Goodwin: Looney/Kilgore or Draft Pick (will be fun to see if they draft a center high)
Donte Whitner: Robinson or Draft Pick
Terell Brown: Cox or Draft Pick
Mario Manningham: Will sign with 9ers to rehab (rumor has it)
Phil Dawson: Akers
Tremaine Brock: Draft Pick
Parys Haralson: Flemming

This list accounts for five draft picks from this or next year having a significant role...hope it happens if they can't resign some of these guys!

so he comes back better than 2011 and becomes mvp in the sb
Smith: Could see us tagging him or signing him to a 1 year deal if he is still doing well and wants to come back.
Boldin: I could see him re-signing for another year or 2 if he does well.
Goodwin: Looney or Draft Pick... Doubtful he will be back but if he is no more than 1 year deal.
Whitner: If he doesn't play like the 2011 version he is gone. If we do re-sign him probably a 1 yr deal or small $. Rookie most likely if gone.
Brown: I think we try to re-sign him but he could get more elsewhere. Rogers is probably cut.. Culliver takes one spot if Brown is gone high pick rookie or FA.
Manningham: If he is back and healthy I would think he would re-sign for us but we won't pay much but with his pay cut I assume he is a win 1st guy. Could be rookie or maybe Williams/Jenkins.
Dawson: I don't think we are big on rookie kickers. Probably another FA or maybe another 1 year deal if he does well.
Brock: Probably gone... draft pick or FA. Would really have to play well on ST to be back since he doesn't offer much at CB.
Haralson: Probably gone but could come back for cheap. Depends on how Fleming (or Johnson) are doing. Could draft someone as well. Doubt we use a FA.

Also, you forgot Kyle Williams and Scott Tolzien. I'd say Kyle could be back for cheap but not likely as more than a #4 WR depending on if Boldin and Manningham are back and how Jenkins does. If Scott does well in pre season I would like him back for cheap but if not look into the draft or FA.

General thought is if Justin wants to come back and is still going strong I would give him a 1 year deal or tag him. Other than him the only FA I really want back would be Brown without overspending. Then a few of the others I would like back but wouldn't overspend. I'd save money up for after 2014 when we have Kap, Aldon, Iupati, Davis, Culliver, Miller and Hunter as FA's. Wouldn't re-sign anybody at the risk of losing those 2014 FA's. I wouldn't go after too many outside FA's either.

Also, not sure this belongs in the Draft forum... probably Niner Talk but either way never too early to start thinking about after next season.

It would be smart for them to try and extend contracts this year. If they wait until next off season it may be too difficult, and if they win a Super Bowl...impossible--as we have seen from Balt. It would not surprise me to see Justin get a two or three year extension. The only other player as valuable is Kaepernick. They need to lock up those two and then try and go after the others. They have a number of young OLinemen who could replace Iupati and Davis, but no one to replace the two most important guys on your list. Aldon? Depends on how they see his attitude. But they need to draft as if he will be gone.
Good post!

I think we let Goodwin, Manningham, Brock, Whittner, Harralson leave afer this season.

I think we resign Justin, Boldin, Dawson, Brown, Kyle, Tholzein.
it's going to be interesting to see how balke decides to reload. there aren't a ton of open spots on the roster this coming year, but they need to prep for a couple years out. its too risky to draft and hide folks on the practice squad.

it's why i think they will find a way to move some selections about a year and maybe consolidate a bit. after S, DL, TE and maybe an OT, there are many gaping holes.
Goodwin, Whitner and Haralson can walk. Goodwin is the only one I would keep, but at right price.

Retain Justin Smith, best 3-4 DE in the game IMO and our leader, cant let him leave.

Retain Boldin, Manningham and try Brown, if not then we draft a top CB in 2014 draft.

Extend Tolzien on a 3yr deal, maybe this year, similar to Ian Williams' deal. Probably wouldn't happen till after draft and training camp, to see if he is the #2 QB for sure.

As for replacements, hopefully Cam or Fleming for Haralson, but draft a real pass rusher. Whitner by a rookie or vet, and Goodwin by Looney or Kilgore.
I'd like to keep Justin, Boldin (if he's cheap), Kyle (cheap) and maybe Dawson. The following year, only Kap, Aldon and maybe Davis are must signs. I think Crabs will want Goldson $$, Hopefully Looney or Kilgore can replace Lupati.
