Release: Parys Haralson, David Akers
Do not re-sign: Ricky Jean-Francois, Isaac Sopoaga, Randy Moss, Delanie Walker, Larry Grant, Ted Ginn, Leonard Davis, Darcel McBath
Re-sign: Dashon Goldson, Tavares Gooden
Free agent signings: Richard Seymour, Pat Sims, Josh Johnson, Travis Beckum
1). Datone Jones- 3-4 DE that can sit and learn from Justin Smith for 2 years before taking over for him.
https
2a). WR-DeAndre Hopkins- Great Hands and knows how to get open. Crabby, Jenkins, Hopkins and Davis would give Kaepernick some weapons to work with.
https
2b). NT-Brandon Williams- Raw 3-4 NT that has a very high upside.
https
3a). CB- Darius Slay- Great size and speed for a CB was under the shadow of CB J.Banks but is a big time sleeper.
https
3b). RB- Marcus Lattimore- Will need to sit out a year or two but when he is ready it will be a steal of a pick. Top 5 pick before Inj.
https
4). S- Earl Wolff- My sleeper at FS or SS. Speed, good size and a great tackler (119 tackles in 2012) I would move up in the 4th to get him.
https
5a). DE- William Gholston- Perfect Size for 3-4 DE but has a hot and cold motor that the coaching will need to fix. Great upside.
https
5b). OLB- Michael Buchanan- Great size for 3-4 OLB and looked like a 1st round pick in 2011. Broke Jaw in Bar Fight that lead to a really bad 2012 season.
https
6a). Dustin Hopkins- David Akers replacement, also got to love crazy kickers.
https
6b). TE- Joseph Fauria- Great size and hands but needs to get a lot stronger. Will need a lot of coaching but is a nightmare match up in the Red Zone.
https
7a). OT/OG- Manase Foketi- Backup OT/OG that has good size and feet. Does need to get in better shape though.
https
7b). WR- Chad Bumphis- Slot WR and PR that could fill Ted Ginn spot.

Man, I love these players but I just can't see the Niners adding 12 guys to their already stacked roster. If they could get 8-10 off this list, however, they would be really sitting pretty.
I think a likely scenario is for them to trade up in the first if they really like a DLman, CB, pass rusher or red zone threat. I can also see them trading up to get more second round and third round picks.
Finally, they could follow the New England road map and trade some picks in this year's draft for higher picks in next year's draft. In any case, they are going to have to trade away multiple picks, probably 5 (at least) of their 15.
Let's not forget that they already have several guys from their 2012 draft class who were hurt or not ready to play as rookies that will make this year's roster, including 2 OLBs.

If you cut Akers and Haralson, trade Smith and then let Jean-Francois, Sopoaga, Moss, Walker, Grant, Ginn, Davis, McBath, Haggans and Brock walk.
You have 13 players off the 53 man roster. Add 4 FA's now you have 9 spots. Lattimore will be on the PUP list all year.
That gives you 11 draft picks going for 9 spots. Here is the battle that will play out in training camp.
Garrett Celek will battle Joesph Fauira for the 3rd TE spot.
Darius Fleming will battle Michael Wilhoite for the 4th MLB spot.
Will Tukuafu, Demarcus Dobbs, William Gholston will battle for the 5th and 6th DL spots.

3rd and 11 your lineup would be
DL Seymour Smith McDonald
LBs Smith Willis Brooks
DBs Brown Culliver Slay Rogers Goldson
Tell me you do not like the idea of this.

Vic Fangio still likes to use 4 LBs in a Nickel package.

I would love to keep Grant over Gooden but Grant is going to be a starting MLB next year Gooden knows his role as a backup MLB.

Yeah that's true. Don't get me wrong Gooden is a great special teamer but Grant is that plus a quality backup if Willis or Bowman ever go down.
