Many people expect rookies to start but very few do well. Aldon came in on passing downs and he was the best draft choice of the past two years...and much higher than the 9ers are likely to have in the forseeable future. The idea of letting Sopoaga go in FAcy with no replacement plan except--"Maybe we will get someone in the draft" seems really shortsighted.
It has been mentioned that they let Franklin go...yes, but they had Sopoaga in the wings and he had been a NT. If they really like Williams or RJF as NTs--fine. But I really doubt they are that comfortable with these two guys.
