"Huge, massive mauler RB from the Big Ten dominates, he's going to come into the NFL and tear stuff up" RESULT=in backup status or out of the league in 2-3 years.
Round 1 Year Pick Name Team College Big Ten
1995 1 Ki-Jana Carter Bengals Penn State
1995 17 Tyrone Wheatley Giants Michigan
1998 5 Curtis Enis Bears Penn State
2000 11 Ron Dayne Giants Wisconsin
2001 27 Michael Bennett Vikings Wisconsin
2002 18 T.J. Duckett Falcons Michigan State
2003 27 Larry Johnson Chiefs Penn State
2004 26 Chris Perry Bengals Michigan
Bell's ceiling is basically Michael Bush, if people think that's worth a 3rd round pick...then so be it. Have never been a fan of running backs from either Michigan or Michigan State.

If youre gonna make a statement like that at least use RB's over the past 5 years... not from 7-16 years ago, leagues change.

I think there is a good chance he is available in the early 3rd round and I believe one of our 3rd rd picks are at the beginning. But I am a little hesitant on using our early 3rd on him but perhaps the late 3rd would suit him well.

Yea if hes around for the second third round pick then he would be a great value pick. I have a feeling theyre going to spend that late 3rd on a RB. I havent seen Bell play yet tho.

Please go ahead and list all the amazing Michigan/Michigan State RB's that have been tearing up the NFL over the past 5 years.

I saw him playing few times so my judgment can't be too in-depth but he reminds me Anthony Dixon namely a power back who wants to play as finesse RB.
Am I the only one to have this impression? I would like to see more decisiveness and explosiveness in his runs

There's literally about 8 or 9 RB's in this draft that I'd much rather have than this guy.

I don't think it's time to draft Gore's replacement. He clearly still has at least 1 good year left. With Hunter, LaMike, Dixon and Hampton, we have enough backs. If I'm Baalke, I don't draft a RB unless there is one that is too hard to pass up or it's in the 4th-7th rounds. We have other depth concerns that we should use our 1st-3rd rounders on.

Would rather draft a FB/RB instead of Bell.
Lonnie Pryor, FB, FSU.
6'0, 230, 4.54 - 40 time.
Recent performance in the Orange Bowl. 134 yards on 5 carries. 2 TD.

Do we really need to spend a 3rd round pick on a guy that will at best get about 5 carries a game? If we pick up a FB/RB, I expect this pick will be much lower.
Also, I think Kendall Hunter is Gore's replacement. And we would just be drafting a guy to compliment Hunter, not replace Gore.
