Bowl Watch!

I'll be posting the prospect watch list one week at a time. Two games this Saturday.

http://www.draftwatchers.com/news/33-Week-1-Bowl-Watch-List.html

Nevada vs. Arizona: Nevada's junior RB Stefphon Jefferson is the #4 rusher in the nation and Arizona's sophmore RB Carey is the #2 rusher in the nation. Jefferson looks a big sluggish accellerating in the back field, but looks like a great power RB once he hits the line of scrimmage.

Toledo vs. Utah State: Utah State is quietly becoming a bit of a goldmine for small school draft prospects, producing Seattle Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner last year and 3rd rounder CB Curtis Marsh the year before. This year the top prospect is senior bowl invitee CB Will Davis.

The talking head McShay really likes Nevada's safety Duke Williams. Any thought on him?

Since we've scouted Arizona a few times, we could be looking to Dan Buckner as a possession/Red Zone receiver as well, Marquis Flowers LB is another guy, I think I remember saying he was either PREVIOUSLY a safety or could play Safety based on his athleticism and body(6'3 230". He has some damn good ball skills too.

From USU - WR Matt Austin could be a quality look at UDFA but he has injury history,

RB Kerwynn Williams could be another player worth watching. 200 carries 1277 yards 12 TDs in his first year starting. Previously behind Robert Turbin in 2010 he had 81 carries for 451 yards 4 TDs and in 2011 he had 81 carries for 542 yards and 3 TDs

lol I click the link and you've got these guys listed. glad were on the same page.

Duke Williams -very fast player who delivers big hits. But I don't think he plays the Safety position very well, plays reckless without proper technique. A lot of his hits would easily be juked/broken against tougher competition. Very very aggressive on the field. Off-field issues. I do not agree with McShay. Maybe a very late rounder or UDFA.

word. I only know about Austin cause I'm in Utah so I read about him and see a lot of random USU games.

Would Flowers be a fit in a 3 - 4 though?
kind of hard to judge Nevada vs Arizona, no one is playing D lol.

TE Sudfeld is impressing me though

In regards to Purdue, Caleb TerBush is the worst QB I've ever seen, in my lifetime, at Purdue. He won't get a sniff from an NFL team. He's bad. Really bad. If you want a Purdue QB to take a chance on, Robert Marve. Was hurt every year he was at Purdue. But he's a former Mr.Football in FL. He was a knucklehead at Miami but since transferring to Purdue he's really grown up. He has a load of talent, just could never stay healthy. Plus he has a ton of heart (played this whole year on 1 leg after tearing his ACL vs. Notre Dame).

Guys you should add to the list: RBs Akeem Shavers and Ralph Bolden, CB Ricardo Allen (he's a junior), WR Antavian Edison, and C Rick Schmeig

Week 2 Bowl Watch!!!!

http://www.draftwatchers.com/news/35-Week-2-Bowl-Watch-List.html

BYU vs. San Diego State: This is actually the marquee match up of the week. DE Ezekiel Ansah is a fast rising prospect while mid rounders CB McFadden and WR Hoffman will be going toe-to-toe. Another great mid-roudner matchup is TE Escobar will be looking to do some damage, possibly with LB Kyle Van Noy in coverage.

Central Florida vs. Ball State: Not much to see, but Central Florida's S Kemal Ishmael should get tested often by both the run and passing game to further evaluate him.

East Carolina vs. Louisiana Lafayette: Another forgettable bowl match up. Defensive end Onyenekwu is a homegrown New Orleans talent looking to sneak into the draft.

Washington vs. Boise State: The talent on the Huskies is with their loaded sophmore class. For now, most eyes will be on Boise State's squad led by CB Taylor who will be competing with San Diego State's McFadden to be the top corner from the MWC, and make no mistake both can play. Taylor will be lined up against sophmore WR Kasen Williams who is a draft prospect himself and is a likely candidate to be a breakout player next year.
Prospects to keep an eye on for UL Lafayette: WRs Javone Lawson and Harry Peoples and CB/S Melvin White
Kyle Van Noy is having one hell of a game

Just rose his draft status tons! Kids been spectacular all year. F'king hate BYU but he's been fun to watch all year.
