Another thing I had trouble with. Maybe we sign a vet like we did with Davis to a minimum deal.

The only way I see the team drafting two d-line guys is if Sopoaga and RJF leave this offseason. If you bring RJF back I would go with a d-line player with a huge ceiling like Margus Hunt to sit behind Smith and instead look at pass rushers, defensive backs, and offensive linemen early.
Getting an early offensive lineman would allow the team to save some money by letting Goodwin go which I'm in favor of for cap reasons. The 49ers offense is good because they have 4 great athletes on the offensive line, adding another athlete like Kyle Long would be good insurance for the next few seasons.
The 49ers have a few defensive backs approaching the end of their contracts, it would be nice to get guys now who could start down the road if needed.

I really like your NT- Jenkins & Floyd. We'll have a very young rotation who can learn from the best. That Floyd is a real Bad-Ass.
I really like Sorensen - I thing we could use the other QB pick somewhere else.
Thanks AB

AB, did you exclude outside FAs for this or do you think we wont get any outside FAs?

Why would they get rid of Whitner? He's one of our best defenders in the secondary. I rather keep him then give Goldson a big contract.

read it again, he says it would make sense to restructure Whitner's deal and extend him

Nice breakdown. Got a feeling that Goodwin, Walker and Whitner will be off the roster going into 2013. Goodwin will be 34 in a few weeks, and the Niners may go safety early to replace Whitner, in a fairly deep safety class. Although Whitner just played his best game of the season last week, the INT was his first of the season, and he only has one forced fumble. This draft will have some quality TE to play the backup role at a cheaper rate than Walker's contract.
