The thing that amazes me is, I just went over to a Redskins fansite to take the temperature. And these guys are elated that their team has just thrown away so much. I just don't see it.

I mean there is almost no price on a young franchise QB but you don't know whether you just traded for Cam Newton or Akili Smith. It's not like they're in win now mode. Good coach, plenty of cap room but you've just mortgaged your future and next 3 years.

You know Im not as sure about him as I was on Cam Newton. To me the guy is bit small and I see him getting banged around like Vick has been. Also not sure if he can run a complex offense. I see the Baylor film and I see many one read deep throws, gotta see how he handles the short game because in the NFL you cant throw deep all the time.

Yeah he has one of the prettiest deep balls I've ever seen but the Vick comparison is somewhat apt here. Vick had a rocket arm but his accuracy on medium and short throws was horrendous. As you noted, those throws make up the majority of passes in the league. However, RG III does seem to be highly intelligent and willing to bust his ass in order to maximize his potential. He has tremendous upside, tremendous ability and the work ethic to match. In many other years he'd be an easy #1. I think he will have success in the league, don't know if he can emulate Cam (Cam is built like a tank). No matter how we break it down it was a tremendous gamble and the only guaranteed winners are the Rams.

I totally agree with the Rams being the winners "if" they draft right. To me it just seems like a lot to give up for a number two pick. If it was for Luck it would make it a little easier to understand.

ITS ONLY 2 First Rounders.... yeah they get there (6) overall, but there #(2) cancels that out.. they are getting 2 1st rounders and a 2nd if you look at it from the smarter way,

Do people realize the rams only have 2 good players?? Long and Jackson. That's it. Bradford is not good yet. They have no CBS no lbs no dl and no ol no Wrs. So if you all think they will make a huge difference by getting 2 first rounders probably in the 7-14 range from Washington, as well as their own first rounders for 2013 and 2014, I would rethink it. They are barely over the cap and have no talent. They really can't sign any big free agents, and just have the draft to hit good players. So good luck to them trying to even come within 4 wins of e niners. This sky is falling mentality is making me laugh. They may have poor drafting as well like they did with their horrible ol, like they did with carriker and even their te last year. Even Quinn was average. So I am looking forward to seeing if they can actually draft one of two good players in the next few years, bc even if they do, they are still about 10 good players behind the niners

The Redskins hate draft picks, they throw them away all the time in favor of free agency.

If the Rams break the bank for a stud free agent WR, at picks 6, 33, and 39, the Rams could end up solving their three of their greatest needs (OT, CB, DT) with a Reiff, J. Robinson, B. Thompson draft, if these players fall into these slots.
Or, the team could get another weapon for Bradford and draft Fleener. Or, if Mark Barron somehow falls out of the first round, he could be that leader in the back end of the secondary.
In other words, there will be some really good players on the board at 33 and 39, and this team has a chance to be a lot better in 2012.

My guess is that they graded Reiff to be nearly as good a prospect as Kalil, and that is the fall-back player if the Browns don't draft Tannehill at 4.

They're best QBs over the last 20 years are Mark Rypien, Gus Ferrotte, and Brad Johnson.
I totally see it.
