then you trade down, but QBs are never BPA because they're overdrafted because they're so important.

5'10 - 3/4" 212 lbs. 4.40 40 yard dash at the combine. 1,272 yards and 9 TD's in 2011.
Gore keeps coming out of the game and missing snaps and entire series at the end of the year and in the playoffs. It's obvious his age, injuries and hits are catching up to him fast. And it won't get better IMO. It will get worse. Kendall Hunter is 5'7" 199 lbs. A change of pace back. Dixon is worthless and we need to replace him.
We need an every down back for the future. And don't come in here and say we don't need a RB.... Gore kept coming out of games at the end of the season and playoffs too. He's really hit the wall. 2 torn up knees, 2 torn up shoulders, age, injuries, tons of hits. It's catching up big time. RB is not as empahsized around the NFL as it used to be in some cases. But to our team RB is HUGE IMO. Control the clock, make our defense even better, and help Alex not have to put the whole thing on his shoulders.
I get that everbody wants Stephen Hill, Coby Fleener, and Peter Konz. But what if they are all gone? And they could be at #30. Say this guy and Streeter in the 2nd round?
You can never have enough defensive backs, so if we cannot trade down, we take Alfonso Dennard or something like that.

Then, you can very much expect the phones to be ringing and a very attractive trade to be made.

This. Preferably, Marcus Lattimore...of course we'll more than likely have to trade up to get him.

Rueben Randle, Alshon Jeffery, Mohamed Sanu - in that order of availability. If none of those are available (which would mean an unbelievable first round run on WR's have taken place) I think we should go best CB available.

This! Although it isn't going to happen at #30 it is happening at #2 this year. The 9ers would have to be incedibly lucky to have a team need #30. But stranger things have happened. If the 9ers do as good a job judging talent this year as last they may be able to trade down and still get the same quality. They traded up to get CK last year.

We have to factor, bpa and need and value later on. There is way more value later for that position considering we have a probowler, who by the way was a 3rd round pick.

It wouldn't necessarily be expected but because this team is primarily a run-the-ball-control-the-clock team, you can never have enough good RB's, especially when your feature back is aging and injury-prone. Waiting until Gore completely breaks down and falls off the wagon is waiting one season too long. Miller could make a lot of sense for them at this point in the draft, especially in the receiving game where Gore has shown a tremendous decline over the past 2 seasons.
I agree 100%. I could see this pick.

These are the reasons you don't draft a RB in the 1st
Proves nothing.
Walter Payton
Barry Saunders
Emmitt Smith
Proves the majority of quality running backs have been found in later rounds, and we too, can find more quality running backs in the later rounds. 3 guys taken in the first from 20-30 years ago proves nothing

Your list proves nothing. None of those guys is as good as the 3 listed.
