P.S. Baas' deal was 5 year 27.5 mil
yeah. It is nice to have extra 3rd, 4th and 5th rd picks, but I would rather replace lost players with quality and known players then risk it and have a 3rd-7th rd guy, not saying they cant succeed, look at Bowman, but still rather take a guy like Manningham and Johnson. Like last year lost Clements when cut, then added Rogers, now he is signed through 2015. Lost Baas, got a good C in Goodwin, will need a future guy, maybe it's Kilgore, if he doesn't work at RG or Person. Whitner was a good signing, especially when we did trade Mays, who sucked. And then Spikes was good to let go of when Bowman was ready.
2010 draft was a good one IMO. I had at the time Iupati, A.Davis and Bowman all in my 1st Round Mock. And last year I had Aldon in top 15, along with Hunter, Kaep and Culliver in 2nd-3rd round guys. Had Miller in 4th-5th rd as a DE/OLB.
Baalke really has done a great jon so far in draft and FA.
Lost Clements Replaced with Rogers
Lost Spikes replaced with Bowman
Lost Franklin replaced with Sopoaga
Lost Manny replaced with Aldon
Traded Mays replaced with Whitner (Also replaced Michael Lewis)
Then like said Drafted a few good Lineman, Iupati and Davis. Only bad pick was Mays, but that was a singletary pick, Baalke wanted Clausen, which I would of been fine with. But it hurts as Morgan Burnett went way after our 2nd rd pick, and Javier Arenas went the next pick after Mays to KC.
