You can never have too many pass rushers.
That being said, I want at least two receivers and a guard from this draft, but if the prospects don't give good value at the position for our 1st round pick, I'll take a pass rusher.
Running back? Not in the first.

Funny how our team does well the 1st year we draft one. We always had a group of guys with 4-6 or so and no one guy that stood out at 10-15 which is what we needed. Someone to consistently bring pressure. Anyways, for those saying get a pass rusher I would assume they mean that only if we lose Brooks. Haralson has done better against the rush but he isn't much of a pass rusher any more. You better believe we need one if Brooks goes. If not then yeah go elsewhere at least in the 1st. Like the poster above me said as well you can't have enough pass rushers. Ask the Giants who go DL year after year.

Here are the reasons:
a) Haralson is NOT a good pass rusher
b) Haralson is NOT a decent pass rusher
c) Brooks disappears for 4-5 games at a time
d) Brooks will likely walk as we cannot resign everyone
e) You can never have too many pass rushers
f) Pass rushers win superbowls
Our biggest hole, however, is at quarterback. Have people really forgotten that????

i hear ya.. depths always a good thing.. but when you dont have a reliable starter in another area i feel like thats a bigger need than depth.. i mean i say draft BPA.. thats what the lions do and came out with a good D-Line so screw it lol

its a passing league, best way to stop Saints, Packers, Giants, Pats, etc. pressure their QB without blitzing.

If Rogers leaves than CB will need to be addressed first and foremost. But if Rogers stays and Brooks leaves then they need some body who can fill that role immediately. And we all know WR is a need but this draft is deep on wr's. They could get better value with a late round CB or OLB, and takign a WR in the 2nd round. This is a year where I don't think anybody will be upset if they take a CB, OLB, or a WR with the pick. Plus with so many teams going to more pass happy attacks there is more of a premium on having guys that can get after the qb without blitzing so you can have that extra guy in coverage.

If Brooks leaves, 3-4 OLB becomes THE need for the team. They are thin at OLB as is and will still need to add someone, even if Brooks does re-sign.

Not really, they got a guy named Alex Smith, did well enough throwing to the worst receiving corps of any playoff QB.

You do realize that Brooks is an UFA this year right? If he leaves, OLB becomes priority #1. Nothing else is even close.
And why do you think we had the leagues top defense this year? What is one of the bigest reason's the Giants won the Super Bowl? Why have the Steelers had such a good defense this decade?
Pass rush.

I'm amazed at how people keep harping on the QB thing, like picking at #30 in the draft you're all of a sudden going to pull a franchise QB with better numbers than Smith out of your ass, not to mention a guy who will become completely proficient in the system in a few weeks, allowing this team to not skip a beat.....good luck.

Pass rush.
This, if you lose the pass-rush, that secondary that gave up like 10,000 yards passing gets exposed and yards start translating into touchdowns. One of the biggest reasons for the improvement of the secondary WAS the pass-rush, anything that reduces the pass-rush will only mean bad things as far as the scoreboard goes, that is why it is THE priority, period. Great pass-rush allows you to get away with lesser quality CB's and keeps you in games against the best quarterbacks in football.
