I wonder why this hasn't been brought up before, but if Harbaugh can give someone like Tony Romo a 2nd round grade, and watch him fall all the way to the 7th round, and he had been in a position to take him, how do you think he would have felt?
If a person can trust in Harbaugh to know his quarterback to the extent he'd take someone on the 1st or 2nd day, why couldn't one have equal faith that he knows someone will be a Tony Romo and be totally neglected by other franchises, and just wait to get him in the later rounds without breaking a sweat? Using the earlier picks on defense and what not?
I would not be disappointed if this were the logic he was using.

Yes if we don't land Peterson at 7, which I don't think will happen.
However, if we trade back then no.

Not at all. I'd be thrilled with PP falling, but I am skeptical if he has a true position. Prince seems to be a very safe pick with a bigger ceiling than most people give him credit for.
Quinn does scare me a bit because of his lack of playing time, but from what he's shown he looks legit.
Wouldn't be upset with either one of them, but what we do at qb is my main concern.

I said I want:
Miller
Peterson
Prince
AJ Green
I think one of those can fall to 7 and I would be happy with any of those.

Great advice!
The draft is pretty much like Christmas...you get either expected or unexpected gifts and all are welcome. What's not to like?

i'm not sure disappointed is a word I would use. I believe this is going to be one of the wildest drafts we have seen in a long time. Some position groups are very strong while others are junk. Teams are going to be wanting to move around and once that starts, it could be epidemic.
Just my thoughts...

if we walk away with Peterson i will be ecstatic. And like another poster said, all the mocks lately have him falling to us, so it would kind of hurt if we didn't get him. but if we got Miller, Quinn, Prince i would still be very happy. But to me its all about the mid rounds. We have the 7th pick, of course we are going to get a stud there. But i want to see Baalke work some magic with 12 picks at his disposal. If some miraculous way we could package some picks to jump back up into the late first round and grab Phil Taylor i would cream myself.

Unlikely.
Unless we trade down, one of these guys will be a 49er:
Peterson
Miller
Amakumara
Green
Jones
Quinn
Gabbert
If we do trade down we'll likely have two 2nd rounders. Happy either way.

Of those 7, Peterson is our dream choice, but, in all likelihood, he and Miller won't be around. I certainly hope we don't take one of the top two WRs with other such glaring needs. And, simply put, I don't have much faith in Gabbert (no pro-style exp.) or Quinn (suspension / health). Just look at all the bust pass-rushers selected in the 1st round / high 2nd round from the past few years and I feel queasy about us selecting someone with such glaring concerns at 7. We need to hit a homerun with a top-ten pick, so Prince would be my choice, but it'd be a slight reach.
With us landing our dream coaching personnel (Harbaugh & Co.), I have this sick feeling that something will go wrong and the draft is gonna go:
CAR - Dareus
DEN - Peterson
BUF - Miller
CIN - A.J. Green
ARI - Gabbert
CLE - Jones
SF - ???
TEN - Fairly
DAL- Castonzo
WASH - Newton
If it went down like this, I would pray that we would take Prince and NOT trade out of that spot with Houston and end up selecting one of the remaining, highly-rated pass-rushers - Quinn, Jordan, Kerrigan, Watt, Bowers, Smith.
If not Peterson, then Prince or BUST!!!

Aah the more I think about it the picker I feel about who we take and why. I still strongly feel this team is 1 or 2 guys away from being an NFC powerhouse. I fucggin hope Jimmy Jim gets it right.

No, but I feel I'll be very surprised by a pick I never saw coming.
