DRAFT FOR NEED MOCK
This is only an experiment, so do not take it all that seriously.
Idea is simple.
Draft best player at positional needs with biggest needs first (more or less)
7th Blaine Gabbert QB
45th Johnny Patrick CB
76th Sam Acho OLB
4a Jerrell Powe NT
4b Derrick Locke RB
5 Edmund Gates WR
6a Ugo Chinasa OLB
6b Cedric Thornton DE
7A Henry Hynoski Fb
7B Ryan Jones CB

A true draft for need mock would be 7 QBs

a true draft for need would be trade all future picks for next 10 years and move up to own every first round pick this year

I think I'd prefer Shane Vereen over Locke. Not because I don't like Locke. I just like Vereen a lot.
And I wouldn't mind seeing another QB later in the draft.
Otherwise, not a bad experiment. And honestly, it's not a bad draft.
Resign Alex Smith.
Trade down.
My top 5 draft for need to add strength where there's weakness.
1).Mike Pouncey OL Florida
Later Chilo have fun in Seattle.
2.Drake Nevis DL, LSU
Franklin is 30 and expensive, RJF and Nevis in the middle, a pair of nasty tigers.
3.Pat Devlin QB, DE
During the workout he probably had the best accuracy percentage, somewhere in the neighborhood of 65-70 percent. His 2010 numbers 68% completion, 3032 yards, 22tds, 3 ints. He's got a great arm, he's accurate and great footwork. Montana's footwork is what convinced Walsh to draft Joe.
5.Titus Young WR, Boise St.
If he's not available go for Terrance Toliver LSU or Austin Pettis Boise St.
6.Owen Marecic FB, Stanford
(West Coast Offense requires a "Rathman" and Marecic fits. With his former coach and being coached by the Rat.

Wouldn't expect Gates or Powe to make it to those spots, but you never know.
Pundits say Gates -- a highly productive receiver at ACU -- is expected to go in the 2nd or 3rd round, after running a 4.31-4.35 forty at the combine.
