He was in awe of Jimmy Clausen, He said he was hands down the best QB in that draft being pro ready and able to come in and start right away. How did that work out for him? Say what you want, try and compare him to all the other athletic Qb's with big arms..but the truth of the matter is..there is no comparison!

So what exactly dont you like about him?

i don't think he's an NFL qb. he may be athletic, big etc, but the system he ran in college is not in the nfl. i don't think he will be able to adjust to the speed of nfl defenses, which in turn will lead to turnovers, bad audibles etc. i live in sec country so yes i watched a lot of his games. really the only game that impressed me was the bama game.
Look at Chirstian Ponder for example. Played in a similar offense in college gets to the senior bowl, and has no problem whatsoever with handling a snap from under center, and making his reads. big timing adjustment.
i jsut don't think you can get by with straight athletic ability at the qb position in the nfl. you have to be very smart in reading coverages, and understanding routes, lanes, etc.
i don't see him as that guy. he's young immature, and has a past. look at what happened in florida. kept getting in trouble. and then the whole auburn thing just smells. it will be just like reggie bush. in a year or two it will come back.

I will just say this... He is the more athletic QB prospect ever, he can do it all. The question comes down to is mental. We know he can handle adversity because he dealt with it all year and still won the Heisman and national championship, so that wont be a problem in the pros (it is what Vince Young never had to deal with in college and he couldn't handle it in the Pros). What you wont really be able to know until maybe two year in, is if he can make the adjustment to the pros, can he digest a playbook and run a pro style offense. He will also need a coach that will let him play, meaning, mold him into Big Ben or Aaron Rodgers... If the coach try's to make him a "don't lose the game" QB i do not see him working out as well.

People overrate his scrambling ability. He's not Mike Vick. Newton got bottled up by Oregon and Alabama. The same is gonna happen in the pros. Sure he can run if there's an opening but let's stop with the NFL never seen this kind of talent before. Vince Young had the same running ability and no one wants him.

If he's going to be successful he's gonna have to be a McNabb or a Josh Freeman or a Big Ben.

He's 1st quarterback off the board and I think if he slips far enough a team like Minnesota will trade up and get him.

I'd be surprised if one of the top 6 teams took him though.

I'm assuming you mean Sanchez is a star. And the only reason he is is star is because he plays in NY for the most heavily followed team in the NFL. He's really not very good at all... The Jets win because of their defense and running game

You wouldnt know what a good QB looks like. You have Stanzis UDFA ass as your top QB. Name a QB in this class better than Newton and why. Newton didnt choke vs Oregon like Luck. Luck choked and cost Stanford the game throwing 2 picks to get Oregon back into thegame. Which they ended up blowing out Stanford. Newton didnt let that happen and had a much better game than Luck vs Oregon. In fact Luck wishes he had Newtons poise cause then Stanford would have went to the National Championship if he didnt choke s Oregon.
