If Peterson shows himself worthy, not a bad trade at all.(I'd pull the trigger). I would be satisfied with either, or even that pass rusher we all want.
we essentially are trading a 2nd for a 3rd and moving down a bunch of picks in the 4th just to move up 4 spots when in all likelihood a just as good corner will be there for us at 7. even tho we still have the SAME NUMBER of picks i would consider this losing picks.
Having a 2nd rounder instead of two 3rds > Moving up for peterson instead of taking prince

This. There is a big drop off from the second to the third round ... having two picks in the top 50 is preferable to drafting Peterson and a player at 68. It's a pretty deep draft but not deep enough to justify moving out of the 2nd round. If possible, I'd favor moving down in the draft to acquire another 2nd this year or a 1st next year.

What scouts have you been listening to? Patrick Peterson is far and away the better prospect.

Also see Jets, NY 2009/2010. They made the AFC championship on the strength of their O-line, Running Game and Shutdown secondary. They front 7 are weak (we are much better), and although Sanchez ain't bad, he is still very young and make mistakes. Point is their corners and Running Game are their strengths.

Even though I agree that it is a high price to pay, I think (other than Titus Young and Jimmy Smith) I like the 3rd round prospects better (Ricky Stanzi, Jeremey Beal, Deunta Williams, Robert Sands, Rashad Carmichael, Jerrell Powe, Sione Fua, Kendall Hunter all probable 3rd rounders) than the secind rounders. That is to say that I just see more value in the 3rd than in the 2nd (unless a quality player drops to us in the 2nd, but I think our 2nd is a little too late to get that one steal in the 2nd when someone falls- last year it was Carlos Dunlap and Nate Allen)

Thank You for understand the long term (though I still think pass rush is a priority, I just think it should be filled in free agency)
Overall, I see Patrick Peterson as an amazing cover man with size, speed and amazing playmaking ability who is aggresive in run support and always goes for the ball at its apex. His strongest quality (making a play on the ball when it is in the air/jump ball) also happens to be a weak suit of Amukamara. Althoug Amukamara is a better straight cover man, when the ball is in the air, he often falters (see the long play vs OSU and Justin Blackmon)

I understand that Blackmon is a very good WR prospect, but we play Fitz 2 times a year as well as Julio Jones (assuming Rams draft him at 14)
Anyway, I see Peterson as a cross between Revis and Nnamdi and I think he would be able to lock down his half of the field.
