Von Miller is a must in Rd 1

No offense, but I will take Mayock's opinion over yours.

If Mayock and Chan Gailey solidify and go out of there way to say that he can handle the run before the other asked the question, I'm cool with that. That punch of his only elevates his status especially against a 315 pound grader. He did it consistently while being able to cover and play the run.

He also said that he will bulk up to 242-248 by the time the Combine comes around.

Look, I can see for myself that he need to add some more to the trunk, period. I see the smaller frame compared to Kerrigan. However, I know for a fact that some of these could go "Jack LaLane" and, poof, muscles and mass. He, from what I read, has the frame to do that. Excellent.

I love this kid and after watching every little opportunity to gaze at what he does in practice, I'm sold. And yes Genus, I watched this rather than reading it.

Don't insult me next time assuming that I don't watch film, any of it, or a game. I never divulged that I did.

What, he's been pegged at 10 -20 range? He's definitely now a true and legit top 10 prospect. He is worthy of #7, period...IMO.

Listen...whoever the niners draft I'm going to root for 100% and if Miller is that pick I'd love to be wrong. But while I'm not going to pretend my opinion counts more than Mayock...I just know when I've watched Miller I haven't been that impressed. I haven't seen all of his games and I'm sure Mike has more access to tape than I do.

Mayock however isn't 100% accurate either...so who knows what will happen with this guy.

To me...the guy is a big risk at #7 due to his size and one dimensional play. It wouldn't be the first time guys have grown after entering the league and Von certainly seems to have good character so who knows.

This has been the fun comparison to throw out there and it just doesn't fit. Freeney is a 4-3 DE. He also has like 30-40 lbs on Von. The positions vary greatly outside of pass rushing. True both Freeney and Miller do that very well.

The Colts D has always been bad against the run and it's hurt them. I'd rather avoid the same thing and it would actually be tougher to hide Von's run D at 3-4 OLB than it is with Freeney in a 4-3 DE.

But as I said above...that's just my opinion. If the niners feel he's the guy and worth the pick I'd love nothing more than to be wrong.

I wanted us to draft Graham last year so I wouldn't be mad with Miller

Reminds me more of Clay Matthews with his speed and size.

Last time we drafted a Butkus award winner it worked out pretty damn good. Patrick willis is 6-1 240...I see no problems with Miller's 6-3 237

VM made a lot of plays in college, but I actually agree with Genus regarding his run def - at least from what I saw in college. He gets swallowed up by linemen. He does not have the size and strength to shed blocks. Too often, when he did not beat the blocker initially, he was not effective. He was hit or miss when pass rushing or in the run.

The only redeeming factor is that I think he will have many free lanes in an aggressive blitzing scheme where his instincts can take over. Also, the fat guys in front of him should make his life easier in more frequently keeping blockers off of him.
