Why did Sing go to Cincy?

The only HC present, who decided to go to Cincy over 'Bama? Instead of seeing McClain (who we may be in position to draft at 13), or Arenas, he goes to Cincy? Something makes me doubt that he went there to see a slot reciever. If he wanted to see a return specialist he would have gone to Alabama. Something makes me think that he's VERY interested in Pike. Thoughts on Pike?

Arenas (AL's return guy) wasn't working out because of the hammy he pulled at the combine.

I think he went to Cincy to see Gilyard. With 4 QB's on the roster already, I doubt he went for Pike. But who knows?

Mike Singletary attended the Cincinnati Pro Day to watch QB Tony Pike and WR Mardy Gilyard. He was seen chatting up a prospect named Alex Daniels.

He had a hankering for 5 way chili maybe.

Alex Daniels - 6'1, 269lbs DE. Probably gets drafted near the bottom of the draft.

Umm maybe to scout players.

whaaaaaaaaa? cut who doesn't win the starting job? Alex Smith is in his contract year anyways and usually doesn't perform his best in camp... and wouldn't you want the best backup possible? ridic

I still doubt he was there for Pike. He may have watched Pike, but I doubt he would have made the trip if Gilyard wasn't there.

Smith and Carr basically have the same contract . . . Smith's averages about $200K more per season. Except Smith's contract expires after 2010 and Carr's after 2011.

You are correct, so if they cut one before the season, the Yorks will save 2 million, the 3 million salary minus the 1 million salary the other qb roster spot will take.

I am not condoning this, I just think that Denise York is cheap, the lack of FA signings, and not extending Willis seem to confirm my thinking.
