This just wouldnt be enough imo. We are a few players away from being serious contenders, and two rookie lineman arent going to be quite enough of an impact to this team.

I'm not a big fan of drafting Thomas there. Given how you have your draft going I'd rather see JPP or Graham there.
I think Graham raised his stock well into the first round.
If Graham was your second pick, would you take Nate Allen S USF in the second then?
Nope I like Pouncey a lot. Gives us an option at Guard or Center if Heitmann leaves at some point in the future.
I think a safety is easier to find later in the draft. Altho I wouldn't be opposed to Allen either.
I like Pouncey too. I just don't think he'll be there at #49. If he is I'd take him. Unless, of course, we take Iupati and Williams/Bulaga/Davis in the 1st.

Why not ? This guy is a playmaker, he gets to the ball, and he can cover. He could be our FS and Goldson the SS. Two playmakers in the backfield, doesn't sound so bad to me.
Honestly I hate drafting safeties in the first round unless they're something special. I think Thomas is a good safety but I don't see him being on the elite level so I would rather grab an All Pro type guard in Iupati or a guy who can finally give us a pass rush on a consistent basis in a guy like Graham.
I'm still holding out hope that Reggie Smith can be our FS. I don't think reaching for a need and a need which isn't even that huge is a smart thing to do.
If we improve our pass rush whoever we have back at safety starts playing a lot better. Even Ed Reed doesn't look like himself when the Ravens can't rush the passer.

We can still get a Safety in the 2nd or 3rd round.
I really think Spiller is going top ten, a lot of mock drafts have him 15th and lower, I think they are wrong.

Taking Davis/Williams/Bulaga and then Graham/Iupati would be the better choice, IMHO.

I like this mock but it shows why I really think we need to trade and grab another 2nd rounder. We really have 4 big needs the way I see it.
1. OT
2. Passrusher (I credit Manusky with our sacks more than any one OLB)
3. Guard (Baas hasn't shown enough and has been injured often) and
4) Return Specialist.
People can argue about the Passrusher being a need since we put up good sack numbers last year but our DB's are mediocre besides Spencer and Goldson so we gotta upgrade either the rush or the coverage. So unless we grab Haden somehow, we're stuck upgrading the rush.
Maybe guard isn't a big need this year since we still have Baas but that means next year we're going to have to seriously think about getting a top notch guard AND center. Heitmann doesn't have that many good years left if any.
What do you guys think of another 2nd?
