Mardy Gilyard story

great story on that kid. Would LOVE to see him in a niner uni.

Yeah he seems pretty humble. He made a mistake and fixed it himself. I like that.

Wow, I love to see stuff like this. People who really stick it out, put their hand to the plow and go after it. I hope he gets drafted High, gets paid well, and plays well. Maybe he'll play for us, but if not...then dang....

he was pretty good in the senior bowl. Funny though...they said he wasn't going to do anything after watching him in all those practices....

makes you wonder if assessing them in practice works at all. Half the players they were high on screwed up, and the other half out performed....

This is the kind of thing you know Singletary loves and values, and makes me believe all the more that Gilyard could be our 2nd round pick if he's there.

As one who has sat at the front of the wagon, pulling it along while waving the flags and tooting the horns and whistles, people know I'm a big supporter of Gilyard. But for good reason, it's not just his tremendous character that makes him stand out, it's his play on the field that has turned everyone's heads the past two seasons.

Gilyard would provide us with a weapon that we lack -- Both a kick returner and a true slot receiver who at the worst, should develop into a #2 guy at the very least.

Simple explanation: Crabtree was the #1 prospect on the board, not even expected to make it there. May have loved Oher, but Crabtree was the better prospect, though not by much.

Crabtree represented a GREAT value at 10, and Michael Oher was next on out board. And Scotty Mac makes personnel decisions, not Singletary.

If he is there in the 2nd (which I don't think he will be) we gotta take him. He is the only KR/PR besides spiller that can contribute at his position as well this year.

Too bad Oher already came out or Gilyard could have a movie made about him too.

This is a great story and I think really shows the character this kid has. I'd love to have him on the Niners--it's players like him who end up being great in the league.
