Horrible off-season. Why would we release a valuable reserve who's only making veteran minimum? Why would we release a SS who is only a rookie and just making rookie minimum? Why would we release Haralson who is a decent LB and if nothing else can put some depth out there for us? Horrible off-season in my opinion.

Free Agents:
LG Logan Mankins
QB Chad Pennington (Raye connection and a vetern backup)
1. Mankins doesn't want to leave New England and has said so
2. With no CBA he's an RFA and you can bet the bank that NE will offer him the highest tender which means we'd have to give up a 1st and a 3rd for him, then what would we do in the draft?

You'll release Haralson but keep Wilhelm who's a backup at best? Wow.

Draft
13- Trent Williams RT
17- C.J. Spiller RB (we need a playmaker in the return game and would be awesom in the spread)
This works though if we want Spiller we'd better get him at 13 or Seattle will likely grab him at 17.

2nd- Jerry Hughes DE/OLB (him and Brooks fight for starting role)
3rd- Brandon Ghee CB (depth behind Clements, Spencer, BLy)
4th- Kade Weston DT
5th- Chet Teofilo OG
6th- Clay Harbor TE
7th- Marcus Easley WR
No guard capable of starting in this draft? You're only addressing one of our needs here. Not good.
QB Smith Pennington Davis
RB Gore Spiller Coffee
FB Norris Robinson
WR Crabtree Hill Battle
WR Morgan Jones Easley
TE Davis Walker Harbor
LT Staley Boone
LG Mankins Teofilo
C Baas Wallace
RG Chilo Wragge
RT Williams Pashos
Pennington won't go anywhere he can't start and there'll be plenty of teams interested in his services. Brit Miller will likely be the backup FB next year if not the starter. Moving Baas to center and cutting Heitmann is a terrible idea. You want your smartest lineman at center to call out assignments. The only exception to this is if you run a pure zone blocking scheme which we don't.

No real problems with this except that Briggs hasn't shown that he's capable of being a solid backup which is why I can't understand you wanting to cut Haralson.

These are fine.
This would be a horrible off-season and would set this team back at least two years on offense. Plus there's no real upgrade on defense either and we definitely need more there than an OLB. If you're going to spend a 2nd rounder on a defensive player make it a safety.
