They both come from Clemson as slightly undersized speed rushers, both are 6-5, around 250 lbs, and both have strangely large foreheads... coincidence?

Sapp is a good bit faster and skinnier than Gaines. Neither one has really added much to the repertoire beyond the speed rush. Sapp could be a really good third down specialist type passrusher in the NFL, though.

Maybe it's time to start paying attention to Ricky Sapp, who has been missing from most of the 1st round discussions on the 'zone. Al Fronczak, a well respected draft forecaster with a proven, measured track record of accuracy, has published his latest post-combine forecast.

#13 OT Trent Williams
#17 OLB Ricky Sapp
Sapp has now become the highest-rated, 3-4 OLB pass-rusher on a number of rating boards.
Just sayin.........

We better not pick him then, he'll just be dead in a few years.

I don't think Sapp will be good. I've watched a few Clemson games and he never really stood out to me.

I was just reading that he played most of last season with a bum knee. Just from watching his highlight reel it looks like half the time teams are running away from his side of the field and the other half he's double-teamed. He always knows where the play is headed and sheds blockers like a cat sheds hair. I'd love to spend a 2nd rounder on him if he was around.
