The San Francisco 49ers are among the teams trying to sign free agent wide receiver Terrelle Pryor, according to Mike Silver of NFL Network. The other teams include the Los Angeles Rams and Cleveland Browns.

The 49ers were among the teams reportedly interested in signing the Pryor (28 years old) as a free agent a year ago. He signed a one-year, $8 million deal with the Washington Redskins on March 10, 2017.

Pryor registered 20 receptions for 240 yards with a touchdown in Washington last year before his season ended early due to an ankle injury he had been dealing with since a Week 2 game against the Los Angeles Rams. He was placed on injured reserve on November 21, 2017, after nine game appearances and two starts.

Pryor (6-4, 228), who played college football at Ohio State, was a third-round draft pick by the Oakland Raiders in 2011. Following his three seasons in Oakland, he bounced around from team-to-team as a quarterback before being claimed off waivers by Cleveland on June 22, 2015.

Pryor was waived by Cleveland on September 10, 2015, and had a workout with the 49ers that October, but San Francisco opted not to sign him. He re-signed with the Browns two months later. The quarterback turned wide receiver had a breakout year with Cleveland in 2016 when he registered 77 receptions for 1,007 yards, four touchdowns, and just four drops that season in 16 games with 15 starts.

On Wednesday, Chat Sports contributor Chase Senior reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers were "aggressively pursuing" San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. He further stated that the Steelers are confident they can finalize a deal for the star player. REPORTS: The Pittsburgh Steelers are aggressively pursuing a Brandon Aiyuk trade and the Steelers would be "surprised" if they don't land Aiyuk. Of note: Pittsburgh has the 20th overall pick. Trent Taylor snatches up 49ers star receiver's old number

By David Bonilla

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel will be wearing No. 1 the next time he steps onto the football field, leaving behind his No. 19 jersey. It's an unfortunate change for any fan who previously invested in a Deebo jersey—unless they consider it a throwback. Newly signed wide receiver Trent Taylor quickly claimed No. 19 after rejoining the team on a one-year deal following three seasons elsewhere. Taylor last wore No. 15 with the 49ers, a number currently worn by wide receiver Jauan Jennings. Taylor also wore No. 81 with the team. The 49ers' official team site has listed the jersey numbers for several of the team's free-agent newcomers (and Maliek Collins, acquired via a

Schrager mock draft has 49ers adding 'universally liked and respected' receiver

By David Bonilla
Apr 16

With only nine days remaining until the start of the 2024 NFL Draft, Good Morning Football's Peter Schrager revealed his first mock draft of the year. While most might expect the San Francisco 49ers to target an offensive lineman, Schrager has the team bolstering its wide receiver corps with an SEC talent. Schrager has the 49ers using the No. 31 overall pick to select former Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey, whose 2023 campaign with the Bulldogs was limited by back and ankle injuries. "McConkey in the first round? Yes," Schrager wrote. "Above guys like Troy Franklin and Keon Coleman? Perhaps. I've spoken to a

Rapoport: 49ers send clear message to teams inquiring about Brandon Aiyuk

By David Bonilla
Apr 16

Ian Rapoport didn't offer much of an update on the ongoing contract negotiations between the San Francisco 49ers and their standout wide receiver, Brandon Aiyuk. However, the NFL insider emphasized one thing: The team is not entertaining trade discussions at this juncture. Reacting to Aiyuk's decision to unfollow the 49ers on Instagram, Rapoport couldn't help but chuckle at the latest development. This practice has become commonplace among players who are unhappy with their contract situations. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel similarly took this action in 2022 before requesting to be traded just before the draft. Things have yet to escalate that far with Aiyuk, but Rapoport sees his
