The 49ers are working with quarterback Colin Kaepernick to restructure his contract, which currently calls for him to be guaranteed his $14.5 million salary in 2017 if he sustained a significant injury, the NFL Network reported. Today, head coach Chip Kelly said he didn't know what quarterback will start against Buffalo after Gabbert had another disappointing performance in a 33-21 loss to the Cardinals on Thursday night which dropped them to 1-4. Gabbert ranks 29th in the NFL in completion percentage (58.0), 31st in quarterback rating (69.6) and 32nd in yards per attempt (5.93). The 49ers have had fewer than 320 yards in five straight games for the first time since 2009.
