49ers will work out RB Ben Tate tomorrow
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, free agent RB Ben Tate will be working out for the running back needy San Francisco 49ers tomorrow.
It is feared that RB Reggie Bush might be out for the remainder of the season after he slipped on the sideline concrete at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis during Sunday's game against the Rams. The team awaits the results of an MRI to see if he has a torn ACL.
Tate was a second round draft pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. He was selected by the Houston Texans and has spent brief time with the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings, and Pittsburgh Steelers. Tate has 2,363 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns on 540 carries during his career. That's a 4.4 yards-per-carry average.
The 49ers are also expected to try and re-sign RB Jarryd Hayne, who the team waived on Saturday. He must first clear waivers this afternoon.
