The 49ers suffered a few injuries in their Week 4 win over the Denver Broncos, but luckily for San Francisco, none appear to be season-ending. Fullback Kyle Juszczyk, who left the game after a violent hit to his knee in the fourth quarter, suffered a bone bruise and a hyperextension that will sideline him for a few weeks, coach Kyle Shanahan shared on a conference call with reporters on Monday.
Juszczyk, who appeared to be in severe discomfort immediately after the play, appears to have escaped a serious injury. Without the fullback available, the 49ers’ three tight ends — George Kittle, Luke Farrell and Brayden Willis will take over Juszczyk’s on-field role.
“Luke and Brayden and Kittle, they are all pretty interchangeable,” Shanahan said. “It will definitely get Brayden some more opps. [Jake] Tonges would do that for us the last couple years, lost him in Week 1 and Brayden has been ready for this role.”
