Sunday was another standout performance for Brock Purdy in the 49ers’ 36-30 win over the Arizona Cardinals, and his PFF grades show where he excelled. The quarterback completed 15 of his 27 attempts for 297 yards and four touchdowns, proving again that he is playing at an impressive level through three games. Purdy’s completion percentage might have dropped to 55.6 percent in Week 3 but his average depth of target was 11.0 yards per attempt, and his four passing touchdowns gave him a 133.8 rating.
Purdy was kept clean on 21 of his drop-backs, helping him complete 14 of his 19 attempts for 271 yards and four touchdowns. The signal-caller also was productive against the blitz, completing five of his seven attempts for 157 yards and two touchdowns.
Unlike in Week 1, when Purdy utilized the short-passing game behind the line of scrimmage, the offense spread the ball around the field against the Cardinals. Purdy only made one attempt (incomplete) behind the line of scrimmage and completed 10 of his 13 attempts from zero-to-nine yards downfield.
Purdy was more challenged from 10-to-19 yards downfield with only four completions...
