SANTA CLARA — The 49ers are headed into Week 15 more rested and a little healthier than they were before their bye week.The team welcomed Eddy Piñeiro back to the practice field after the kicker missed two games with a hamstring injury. “It was a little frustrating because I haven’t missed a game in almost four years,” Piñeiro said on Wednesday. “Missing those two games was very frustrating for me, but we are back.” Matt Gay, who stood in for Piñeiro, was perfect in his two outings for San Francisco, including two field goals and two extra points in the team’s win in the windy Cleveland weather. Piñeiro is happy that his temporary replacement was successful in the challenging elements, but he wishes he could have been part of the contest, rather than being relieved.“I found out on game day that it was super windy,” Piñeiro said. “It’s just part of the process. Honestly, I wanted to kick in the game. Not being able to play in that game obviously was tough. I love to play, and love the sport.
