The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 11 contest against the Arizona Cardinals on Monday night at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. This week, the team is practicing at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, about an hour south of Denver, to get acclimated to the altitude.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan has already ruled out defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw for Monday's game. Kinlaw remains on injured reserve due to a setback in his surgically reconstructed knee. He did not make the trip with the team.
Also missing from Thursday's practice, the first of the week, was defensive lineman Arik Armstead. He is dealing with foot and ankle injuries that have forced him to miss the last five games. Defensive end Samson Ebukam (quadricep) was also noticeably absent from the practice field. Although,
Nick Wagoner of ESPN saw him getting some work on the side.
The good news is that
Danny Gray was on hand, albeit limited. Earlier this week,
Shanahan said the rookie wide receiver was day-to-day after rolling his ankle during pre-game warmups on Sunday night.
Cornerback
Charvarius Ward did not practice due to a personal matter. Shanahan doesn't believe the defender will miss Monday's game, though.
Below are Thursday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Cardinals, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.

49ers' Fred Warner addresses Armstead's departure, Greenlaw's recovery, Super Bowl window
The news of Arik Armstead's departure from the San Francisco 49ers after nine seasons with the team shocked linebacker Fred Warner. Armstead, a former first-round pick, was an impactful force on the football field. However, his availability over the last two seasons forced the 49ers to reevaluate his contract, and when his salary could not be significantly reduced, the two sides parted ways.
"Huge surprise," Warner said of learning that Armstead was being released. "Ever since I've been here, we called him the blueprint for how to be a Niner. That was the longest-tenured Niner that's been here and a guy that's done it right through and through."
Warner has been in the NFL long enough to understand how the league works. Over the years, he's watched several

On Wednesday, Chat Sports contributor Chase Senior reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers were "aggressively pursuing" San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. He further stated that the Steelers are confident they can finalize a deal for the star player.
REPORTS: The Pittsburgh Steelers are aggressively pursuing a Brandon Aiyuk trade and the Steelers would be "surprised" if they don't land Aiyuk. Of note: Pittsburgh has the 20th overall pick. The Niners could look at that as equal value for Aiyuk if they can't get a deal done.…
49ers sign WR Trent Taylor, reuniting with former draft pick
The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech.
Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area was the first to report that the 49ers were discussing a potential reunion with Taylor. The receiver was part of head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch's first draft class in 2017 and spent his first four NFL seasons with the team.
