It's not a surprise the 49ers have used multiple draft picks on cornerbacks given their lack of depth beyond starters Jason Verrett, Emmanuel Mosely and K'Waun Williams. Like Ambry Thomas, their third-round pick, the situation will give fifth-rounder Deommodore Lenoir a strong chance to make the roster.

Richard Sherman's wife told 911 operator that the cornerback was drunk, threatened suicide

Seattle-Tacoma radio station KIRO-FM obtained and aired audio from the 911 call placed by Ashley Moss, the wife of former San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman, and the details emerging from it are shocking. Sherman was arrested on Wednesday morning for "burglary domestic violence." Although, the "domestic violence" designation has to do with the relationship between Sherman and the owners of the residence, who are his in-laws, per Redmond police chief Darrell Lowe. Sherman had allegedly crashed his vehicle about an hour before arriving at the residence. There is a suspicion of DUI, which is seemingly confirmed by the audio of the call. The San Francisco 49ers still have three unsigned draft picks. Among them is the No. 3 overall pick — quarterback Trey Lance. The others are third-round picks Trey Sermon and Ambry Thomas. With players scheduled to report to training camp in a couple of weeks, should fans be concerned that the 49ers' quarterback of the future remains unsigned? Probably not. Lance's contract terms have been predetermined thanks to the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement. All rookie contracts are for a length of four years, and Lance's will be worth $34.1 million with a signing bonus of $22.2 million and a 2021 salary-cap hit of $6.2 million.
