49ers injury updates: Two banged up against Eagles

The San Francisco 49ers appear to have emerged from Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles in relatively good health. However, they were not entirely unscathed. Head coach Kyle Shanahan, speaking to reporters after the dominant 42-19 win, provided injury updates.
"[DT Arik] Armstead had a foot, didn't return," Shanahan said. "[TE Ross] Dwelley had ankle, didn't return."

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey scored two rushing touchdowns in yesterday's 31-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Those scores give him 11 rushing touchdowns on the year, to go along with 5 receiving touchdowns.
While McCaffrey's oft-publicized touchdown streak may have been snapped at 17 against Jacksonville, his touchdown totals have made him the uncontested leader in two important San Francisco franchise records.
First, McCaffrey's 11 rushing touchdowns in 2023 have set a new 49ers franchise record for most rushing touchdowns by a player in one season. 49ers bring in familiar face for workout amidst roster injuries

The San Francisco 49ers are turning to a familiar face for a workout following injuries to two safeties, Talanoa Hufanga and George Odum. Hufanga suffered a torn ACL in Week 11, while Odum sustained a torn biceps on Thanksgiving.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, veteran defensive back Anthony Averett will work out for the 49ers on Monday. Averett briefly joined San Francisco's roster during training camp in August but was released with an injury settlement on August 17.
