The 49ers are officially in position to double last year's draft haul, when their five-man draft class was their smallest since 1997. As expected, the 49ers were awarded a fifth-round compensatory pick Wednesday for losing wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders to the Saints in free agency last year. The 49ers now have 10 draft picks. If they used each selection, it would match their largest draft class since 2017.
