Colorful 49ers long snapper Taybor Pepper hopes perseverance finally pays off

The 49ers signed Taybor Pepper to replace longtime long snapper Kyle Nelson on Sept. 30 and Pepper debuted in Sunday's loss to the Eagles by not calling attention to himself, the goal of any long snapper. However, given his position's lack of job security, along with his zig-zagging career arc, Pepper knows better than to assume his rugged road has been replaced by easy street.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel appears to be eyeing a Week 12 return. We know head coach Kyle Shanahan is optimistic that several injured players will be making their returns this week. That includes Samuel, along with cornerback Richard Sherman and running backs Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman. Samuel shared a video via Instagram with the caption, "Finally back to work." 49ers-Rams: Jamar Taylor carted off the field after injury

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Jamar Taylor went down near the end of the second quarter of the team's Week 12 road matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. He had to be carted off the field and to the locker room after appearing to suffer a left knee injury. Taylor appeared to be in significant pain as he was helped onto the cart. The injury came on a hit from Rams running back Malcolm Brown. Taylor has been playing at the slot cornerback position during K'Waun Williams' absence. Emmanuel Moseley replaced him. Taylor, an eight-year veteran, is in his first season with San Francisco.
