Orlovsky believes 49ers become Super Bowl contenders with Carson Wentz
By David Bonilla

There is no indication that the San Francisco 49ers are serious about Carson Wentz. There was a report that the team inquired about the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, but that may have just been general manager John Lynch and company doing their due diligence. It's always worth knowing the going rate for a former starting NFL quarterback, after all.
Wentz isn't a fan-favorite trade candidate either. He was one of the worst quarterbacks in the league last season. His 65.0 overall Pro Football Focus grade was a career-low.
One ESPN analyst feels Wentz paired with the 49ers could be a game-changer, though. Former quarterback Dan Orlovsky recently said that the Eagles passer with the Indianapolis Colts or San Francisco would make either team a Super Bowl

2020 was a fairly forgettable season for the 49ers, but there were still three catches along the way that were memorable enough to be included in the NFL's collection of the top 100 catches of the year.
The collection was released to the NFL's YouTube account on February 19 and included catches from wide receiver Kendrick Bourne, tight end Jordan Reed, and tight end George Kittle, with Reed and Kittle's catches cracking the top 20. Here's a look at the 49ers catches that made their list.
C.J. Beathard and Kendrick Bourne's meaningless-but-still-cool Hail Mary completion (ranked 68th overall)
This play came as time expired in the 49ers' 41-33 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on December 20. Chances are it would have ranked higher had it

Florio predicts the 49ers will release Jimmy Garoppolo rather than trade or keep the QB
By David Bonilla
Feb 16, 2021
What will the San Francisco 49ers do with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo? The simple answer is that the team will retain his services, should a perceived upgrade not present itself. If a perceived upgrade is acquired, then the team will likely try to shop the quarterback.
"Most presume he'll be traded," wrote Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk on Tuesday. "But here's the question: If the 49ers don't want to keep Garoppolo at the balance of his current contract, who would trade for the thing?"
The New England Patriots would likely welcome back Garoppolo with open arms — for the right price. They have the cap space to absorb his salary.
