Richie James. Not, Richie James Jr. We hear you loud and clear. The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver said he prefers the former to the latter. James had an impressive outing last week against the Green Bay Packers, hauling in a career-high nine passes for 184 yards (also a career-high) with a touchdown. No one was even sure he would play. Under normal circumstances, he might not have. Last week was far from normal circumstances, though. Of course, the same can be said of this entire injury-plagued season. The team certainly doesn't take a lot of deep shots against opposing defenses. They took one on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, though, and it did not go well. Wide receiver Richie James had Saints safety Marcus Williams beat deep. Niners quarterback C.J. Beathard, out of the shotgun, threw the football toward the open receiver. "Toward." As in, in the direction of but not on target. Beathard underthrew the football, and San Francisco, once again, missed out on a big opportunity. It was Beathard's only snap of the game. According to head coach Kyle
