The San Francisco 49ers have announced that the team has placed Deebo Samuel on injured reserve. The move will force the second-year wide receiver to miss at least three games under the NFL's new injured-reserve rules, meaning the earliest he would be available is for Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Indeed, the other 31 coaches in the league are

San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch said on Sunday that wide receiver Deebo Samuel "has a shot" to play this weekend against the Arizona Cardinals. Lynch said something similar about three other players' chances of practicing on Wednesday. They are Brandon Aiyuk, Ben Garland, and Kyle Juszczyk, who have each been hindered by injuries. "Hopeful," Lynch said Sunday morning of their chances to get on the practice field. "They're out here as we speak training and working really hard. I think on Wednesday, the first injury report comes. But those guys are all working and have a chance, so we'll see where it goes." All three players suffered their injuries
