We just need to win every game for the rest of the season and we will be in great position for the playoffs even if we don't get the #1 seed.
The best Playoff teams are hot going into the postseason and traveling to LA for a game is not a big deal.
Also since we had our Bye late, we are not really screaming for an extra week off.

Playing in LA for a playoff game would be ideal, we would absolutely take over sofi

we got a real shot at the division
Our only real shot at the division will happen if Rams lose at Seattle in 2 weeks. If that does not happen, I don't think we have any real chance to win the division and this is why:
Even if Rams lose to Detroit and we win out, we still don't win division. After Seattle, Rams play Atlanta and AZ so those are easy wins.
If the Rams beat Seattle in 2 weeks, the highest we can go is the 5th seed.
If we win out and rams beat seatle but lose to lions we win division. Based on best conference record. So we would leap frog them. Rams have 3 nfc loses we only have 2 nfc loses. And in that scenario the rams would have 4 nfc loses vs our 2 tie break goes 49ers way
This is incorrect.
Common opponent is next tiebreaker before conference record.
Rams must lose 1 more divisional game so we win division tiebreaker and dont go to common opponent tiebreaker which they will win.
I just realized this as well. Kind of stupid that conference record isn't more important that common opponent.
I think this really dampens our shot at winning the division. It almost doesn't even matter if the Rams win or lose to the Lions (although a Lions loss guarantees the 49ers in with 11 wins). It will all come down to Rams @ Seattle (in terms of our shot at the #1 seed/division).
Yep it all hinges on Rams @ Seattle.
If the Rams win our ceiling is essentially the 5 seed unless one thinks the Cards have any chance in hell to beat LA on the road with the 1 seed on the line for the Rams.
The other scenario that does help us if all 3 NFCW teams finish 13-4. Of course that scenario is only possible if Seattle beats the Rams.
We almost need Seattle to win their next 3 and only lose @ SF to force a 3 team tiebreaker.
Of course if the Rams lose to BOTH Detroit and Seattle then everything changes.

The fans would.
The team, OTOH, will get ass raped if we have to play them…

Although we seem to always have their number in the playoffs.
GB and Philly bad weather games.
Ideally you want Tampa or Carolina.

The #1 seed still very much in play. I think the 49ers can run the table and win all next 4 and Rams have a strong chance of dropping at least 1 game vs Seahawks and or Lions. Hopefully Special Teams stay HOT!! And Turnovers are Limited on O. Have full Confidence that Saleh and Co can muster up some Genius game plans to mitigate the lack of pass rush.

Here is who I am rooting for in Week 15:
49ers move into the 5th seed with:
49ers beat Tennessee at home
And
Seattle loses at home to Indy
49ers move 1 step closer to 1 seed with:
Green Bay loses at Denver
Other relevant games:
Rams lose at home to Detroit (has no effect on 49ers seeding but it does move us into tie with Rams in division even though Rams would still have tiebreaker based on common games played)
49ers move into the 5th seed with:
49ers beat Tennessee at home
And
Seattle loses at home to Indy
49ers move 1 step closer to 1 seed with:
Green Bay loses at Denver
Other relevant games:
Rams lose at home to Detroit (has no effect on 49ers seeding but it does move us into tie with Rams in division even though Rams would still have tiebreaker based on common games played)

LOL - I think Seattle is favored by 12. My post was about who I am rooting for not who I think is going to win.
