Kanter's entire point is to show that if he says he "feels" like a woman, their standards would allow him to enter the league and completely destroy the record books. Some people take empathy to the point of stupidity. Nothing should be more obvious than biological men not being involved in women's sports, but here we are debating it as a society.

All this, 100%. The bold in particular.

Exactly. This claim that they're trying to be proactive is nonsense. They're creating a problem that may have never come up simply for performative politics.

there was an owner kelly loeffler who was exiled from wnba in 2020. her crime? she said this: "The truth is, we need less—not more politics in sports. In a time when polarizing politics is as divisive as ever, sports has the power to be a unifying antidote."She warned that subscribing to a "particular political agenda undermines the potential of the sport and sends a message of exclusion."

she objected to wnba literally painting the courts with propaganda or political messaging. and they kicked her out. so that means WNBA welcomes political messaging. t shirts that say trans kids belong. well if they belong then put em in coach. ye reap what ye sow.

Her situational awareness is that of a door
knob

this pretty much summarizes why the WNBA also
needs men

the right is so obsessed with trans athletes. it's really weird and bizarre how they obsess over, amplify, and fear one of the tiniest demographics of people out there. there are fewer than 10 trans athletes competing in the NCAA out of 510,000 athletes. the right will make you think the topic is super important and that trans are trying to take over the country. that's legit hysteria.

for this latest WNBA thing, FOX News (Outback Sports) asked the question to the french trans athlete because Sophie Cunningham's unsolicited comments the week before. there wasn't any talk about trans in the WNBA until these right wingers manufactured the topic.

Exactly. This claim that they're trying to be proactive is nonsense. They're creating a problem that may have never come up simply for performative politics.

Okay again. If it's a non issue why not squash it by simply saying born-as-a-woman to qualify in the league?

and ultimately I think it's about all women's sports, not just 1 league
lol this is a betting thing 100 percent. Why else would you bring in Juwanna Mann?

To avoid the bad PR of coming off as anti-trans. The juice wasn't worth the squeeze, because it applied to zero people until now.
Hypothetically, if it ever did happen, Kanter and White would be hit with a bunch of 'inadvertent' knees and kicks to the nuts. They wouldnt last half a quarter.

You think it's better PR to face the current backlash?

I'm talking about before this s**tshow. They probably wouldn't have assumed idiots would pull this stunt.

That said, I do still think it's better PR for their audience than announcing a trans-ban.

Enis Kanter Freedom and Royce White agree.

anti trans PR > anti woman PR

Have you seen the wnba play? They're awful

The announcer trying to mask the bad play by stating "Atlanta continues to master the offense boards..." when in reality it's just Reese bouncing the ball of the boards to stat pad her rebound queen bs.
