The last time the Braves won, my wife and I were dating. 26 years later, she and I watched the final 12 outs while our daughter was asleep upstairs. Just awesome. I hope we can move past the negative of our history in our play and some of our actions. I understand the feelings in the Native American community, and we must not ignore it, but I think we can all grow together. The Braves belong to all of Atlanta. Hank Aaron was my first baseball love and I never got to watch him. A black man hounded for chasing the Babe and passing him. I hope we can remember that the Braves haven't always been bad--Hank proves it. There is good there. The city of Atlanta means a lot to my family, my wife and I honeymooned there, we took our daughter there twenty years later, and there are just a lot of good folks there. It's time for the city to heal, I hope this helps.
Props for Val hanging in, year in, year out. Much love to him for keeping the thread going.
