They (NYY) tried to shame him publicly with that deal. They announced the terms to media to say look fanbase we tried he turned down $200m or whatever it was, he is greedy, whatever.. There is bad blood here Judge didn't like the lowball offer and didn't like the contract deets being made public by NYY to make the player look bad.

Why do that before hearing what other teams will offer. If the Giants want to offer him 30 million more than the Yankees he would probably take it. He doesnt need to be in any rush. Its called being smart and having all the leverage.

Because if he WANTED to be a Yankee, he would have already signed

Evidently not. Judge is playing this EXACTLY the right way. He has already gotten an offer 100 MILLION dollars over what Garce thinks he should have signed for initially if he wanted to be a Yankee. He knows he has that in his back pocket and can entertain offers from the Giants, Dodgers, and Mets. Once he gets a better offer he can go back to the Yankees to see if they will match it or take the offer and make a fortune. Its what Scott Boras does for his clients and what makes the most sense financial sense.

We probably have to promise him we're signing more guys if he will agree to sign. I still think theres a real chance we get Judge and Correa, which would be crazy. Like a superstar version of 2018 when we added McCutchen and Longoria.
