fat raffy starting to swing the stick, he still can't field or run at all and i'm sure he's a clubhouse cancer as we have bombed since he got here but i give credit where he is do, no jinx raffy keep on clubbing the ball
How exactly is he so terrible in the field? I've seen him make several really nice plays on defense this season. Also, didn't he win a gold glove at 3rd? I know different position, but I would say he's not nearly as bad in the field as you make him out to be.
yeah he's a gold glove winner, when you just make stuff up
how about showing me when that happened?
this is from the non human friend: No, Rafael Devers has never won a Gold Glove Award
also from the non humans, when asked if he's good, average or bad in the field:
Rafael Devers is statistically considered a bad fielder. [1]
While he occasionally flashes the arm strength or reflexes to make a highlight-reel play, advanced defensive metrics have consistently rated him well below league average throughout his career
I just looked up his fielding numbers and he didn't win a gold glove and he was a below average fielder at 3rd. I'd say he's been okay at first. Better than anyone else they have right now. I wish thet could have kept Dom Smith who was a great defensive first baseman and an under rated hitter. Dever's hitting can drive you crazy with the strikouts but when he hits he usually drives the ball and produces runs. HRs and lots of doubles. I din't blame him for the Giants record since he came here. The pitching has steadily gotten worse. Especially the bullpen. You can't blame him for that.
Alright, well I either heard or read somewhere that Devers had won a gold glove while with Boston. I don't remember exactly what I heard or read, but I know I didn't just randomly come up with that thought in my head out of nowhere.
Either way, he seems like he's a pretty decent fielder at 1st base to me. I don't really follow all the advanced metrics and statistics so maybe those don't show that he is elite or anything, but my eyes tell me he's a good fielder.
Whatever though, these guys fkn suck lol. This pitching is so embarrassing
He did start at 3rd base for a few years in Boston and he made some all star teams but that was because of his hitting. Maybe you got the all star team mixed up with the gold glove. I hope they have a good plan to rebuild this pitching staff. They don't appear to have much help coming from the minor leagues. That means trades and free agents.
