Barry is 61, time flys man, I miss him so much. I didn't realize how spoiled I was to be watching him at his peak

Grade 2 forearm ucl sprain which usually signals tommy john, too bad he was really disappointing last year and needed a strong season this year.

He can probably still hit. Last year they made a big deal out of Raleigh getting more HRs before the all star game than Bonds. That was largely because Bonds was hitting HRs at such a high pace they virtually stopped throwing him strikes the last few games before the all star game. Once he reached 38 he walked 22 times and only hit 2 HRs between then and the break. If they had pitched to him in 2001 he might have hit 80 or even 90 HRs that season.

He is likely going to be out until mid-2027. Unreal.

He hasn't been hitting well this spring. When he makes contact the ball is rocketing off the bat but he's striking out about 38% of his PAs. Nearly 49% of his ABs. That's just too high. With his size and hitting style he'll always be a high SO guy but he needs to get down to around 28% or less where other big HR htters are. With his power he can afford to cut down a little on his swing and still hit the ball out of the park. Sometimes it takes big guys a little longer. He'll get there.
He's still young and hasn't had a lot of PAs at the minor league level. No college ball either. I just looked up Aaron Judge's stats and he spent 4 seasons in the minors. Over 1300 PAs and 689 at AAA. He was 24 when he finally made it to the majors. There's just no need to rush Bryce. He's only had 320 PAs at AAA and some of those were spent after coming off an injury. Let him continue to get at bats in the minors while playing first base and DH. His fielding has improved a lot so he's on track. Don't derail him.
I know fans are anxious to see him in the big leagues (so am I) but I don't want to see him start in the majors and then get sent down after 3 weeks. Then brought up if he starts hitting and then sent down agian when he struggles. We've seen that scenario so many times. Let him play every day. Not 2 days in the lineup and then one day off. If he can stay healthy he might be able to get his swing in a groove. To maximize his usefullness he'll need to provide consistent power at the ML level. He's not going to make the bigs because of his defense, base running or ability to hit for average.

Stoked that he's finally getting welcomed back finally. Slowly but surely, just like A Rod. I saw Bonds is gonna be in the booth for our opener on Netflix or something

It's hard to remember the last time a Giants or 49er team started the season without someone on the injury list. If they did they probably lost someone the first week.
