I would assume to keep him in the lineup. I would think he will mostly DH, but to give guys rest, he will occasionally play 1B and maybe LF. Devers is going to need to DH occasionally, etc.

They have to do something if they are committed to having Eldridge in the lineup all season. When Arraez is inevitably moved off of 2B because he is costing us games with his defense, the only place he can go is 1B or DH. Well, we already have Devers and Eldridge in those positions. Devers isnt going to move anywhere else, so the only other option is to move Eldridge.

Everything I've read abvout Eldridge says he's a DH and hopefully a first baseman some day. Not an outfielder.

Also, Ruff was an OFer. Dude could cover like 5 feet.
