2025 San Francisco Giants Season Thread

Can the Giants get in on Skubal trade with combo of players covering at least half of that contract cost (16M per), plus prospects. Or the Dodgers will come on knocking.

the asking price for skubal would be astronomical and you're going to have to pay a pitcher who is at his peak probably $500m.

IMO there is nothing the Giants could offer that they would accept. Bryce and Josuar could be the offer and the Tigers decline.
The staff for 2026

That looks like a young staff other than Washington and Anderson. We'll see if they bring a fresh approach to this team.
Looks good

Pretty good mentor for the kid.

This morning KNBR was saying Eldridge was working out in left field. Not sure why because he's slow as molasses. They can't be thinking of him as a regular LFer.
I would assume to keep him in the lineup. I would think he will mostly DH, but to give guys rest, he will occasionally play 1B and maybe LF. Devers is going to need to DH occasionally, etc.

That may be the reason but he's really slow. Look at his scouting report. It's by far the worst part of his game. I guess he could do it occasionally if Ramos wa sout for some reason.

They have to do something if they are committed to having Eldridge in the lineup all season. When Arraez is inevitably moved off of 2B because he is costing us games with his defense, the only place he can go is 1B or DH. Well, we already have Devers and Eldridge in those positions. Devers isnt going to move anywhere else, so the only other option is to move Eldridge.

Everything I've read abvout Eldridge says he's a DH and hopefully a first baseman some day. Not an outfielder.

I am not disagreeing with you. I am simply saying that the way this team is constructed, we have three starting players with two positions for them....which is why it would seem like we are toying with Eldridge playing the outfield.
Also, its just spring training. It doesnt mean he plays in the OF in the regular season. They could be just adding some versatility to his game. Remember, he was an amazing pitching prospect as well. Dude has a really strong arm which doesnt hurt in the OF.

Also, Ruff was an OFer. Dude could cover like 5 feet.

What do you mean? You can project entire careers off of spring training. Right 99?
