Holy s**t 4th! I know Buster likes his light contact hitters but damn it if he's going bat better take the power high upside guy over the guy whose ceiling is close to set

ESPN did a mini mock and said we draft Drew Burress (CF) from Georgia Tech.

Hopefully the Giants being surrounded by the Pirates, Rays, Orioles, and Royals at the top of the draft is a good omen.

It doesn't make as much difference as it does in football. Some of these guys take 2-4 years to get to the big leagues and some never do. Some end up being traded for established players. The Giants have traded away several of their top prospects over the years.
Randy Winn who is VP of player development is on KNBR now. He said "I'm getting a lot of congratualions for basically doing nothing"

I finally took SWH's advice and used the google. I can't believe I didn't think of that before!
Here are the top 5 prospects:
1. Roch Cholowsky (SS, UCLA) Cholowsky is the most polished player in the class, offering a true 5-tool shortstop profile with plus defense, real power, and advanced bat-to-ball skills. He projects as a fast-moving, day-one MLB shortstop with All-Star upside.
2. Grady Emerson (SS, Fort Worth Christian HS, TX) Emerson is the top prep bat in the class, a left-handed hitter with smooth actions, strong swing decisions, and a ton of physical projection. His ceiling is enormous—potentially a middle-of-the-order shortstop with both power and athleticism.
3. Justin Lebron (SS, Alabama) Lebron is a dynamic, twitchy athlete with plus defensive ability and one of the best infield arms in the class. If his bat continues trending upward, he could leap into true 1:1 territory.
4. Jacob Lombard (SS, Gulliver Prep, FL) Lombard is a long, projectable 6'3 shortstop with advanced feel for the barrel and the tools to grow into above-average power. His combination of arm strength, athleticism, and frame gives him one of the highest long-term ceilings in the class.
5. Drew Burress (OF, Georgia Tech) Burress is the best pure college hitter in the 2026 class, combining elite bat control with 20+ HR power and outstanding pitch recognition. He profiles as a high-floor, middle-of-the-order corner outfielder who could reach the majors quickly.
Here is the top pitcher available:
6. Cameron Flukey (RHP, Coastal Carolina) Flukey is the top college arm in the 2026 class, featuring a mid-90s fastball with carry, a sharp slider, and developing changeup—all backed by strong pitch data. If his command continues to tighten, he has the upside of a mid-rotation starter with flashes of frontline traits.

Pete Alonzo sigs with theOrioles. Mets fans must be losing their minds after losing their closer to the Dodgers. Meanwhile the Dodgers are trying to work out a deal for Tarik Scubal.

I highly doubt Skubal gets traded... the asking price is going to be the highest for any player maybe ever.

Susac might end up being a sneaky good pickup. I was surprised the A's exposed him to the rule 5 draft.

Knowing the Dodgers can basically do whatever they want, I wouldn't be surprised if they got Skubal.
