If I said that I was wrong. He's dominant but not the greatest. There are other players that dominate just as much in hitting and pitchers that dominate more in pitching. I believe I was responding to someone who said he's the greatest player in history. That's saying a lot since baseball has been around for 150 years. I'm only stating my feelings about it the same way people say Brady or Montana is the greatest. It's not an absolute.
He won the MVP for the series but he was batting .159 in the playoffs prior to that last game. Even with that 3 HR performance he batted .219 for the playoffs. He struck out 17 times in 41 ABs. I'm sure he wasn't happy with his performance prior to that last game.

The LA Dodgers invested heavily in Shohei Ohtani.
— ClutchPoints (@ClutchPoints) October 19, 2025
$700 million over 10 years, to be exact.
That investment paid off REAL QUICK.
According to former ESPN reporter Joon Lee, the Dodgers already made the $700M back in Shohei's first year with the team.

This is exactly why I said from the start that we should offer (should have offered) him a 10 figure contract and been totally fine with it.

Why do you think he's a b***h?

LOL
10 years/$1.1B would have been my offer.

Obviously he isn't very familiar with the players in the organization but they might be an advantage. He has no pre conceverd notions about players so he may be more willing to give some of the younger guys a chance.

Max Scherzer on new Giants manager Tony Vitello, his former pitching coach at Missouri: "I absolutely believe in him. He's to this day one of my closest friends and I absolutely believe he's gonna get it done at the big league level." https://t.co/UMsR3sj5GI
