I spoke too soon, right before the 9th inning. So, baseball gods decided to mock me for that. I am sure if I didn't, the Giants would have meekly lost 5-2

You want to try this approach to winning every night? Good luck.
Happy to have pulled this game out, sure every win counts. But much more concerned they went quietly into that good night for 8 innings. Against the pitcher with the 8+ ERA!!! In Coors field!!!
This was their 6th straight win by one run. That's an all time franchise record. Like 57 saud a win is always nice but they looked terrible for most of the game. The starter they faced had a terrible ERA ( I think it was around 9) and yet they could only get 2 runs off him in Coors Field. It took a slumping Schmitt and a speedy runner like Flores (insert laugh) to bail them out. If they were hitting even a little they would be in first place since the Dodgers are struggling with injuries.

I'm hearing that there's some concern that Chapman's injury is more serious that they thought and it may be longer than 10 days. He's scheduled to see a specialist today. Wrist injuries are always bad since they affect your hitting as well as your throwing.

Hope Chapman is ok.

He will be eventually but this team can't afford to have any power bat out of the lineup for long. Even with Chapman they were struggling. Schmitt is a good defender but he's not as good a hitter. He's never really been the same since he got hit in the face by a pitch. Prior to that he looked like a player on the rise.
Chapman shoulda had his oven mit on while he was on base. Maybe it wouldn't have helped though in that particular instance, who knows. Sucks though

Worse than torture lol. But it is also the Rockies.

Side note: That Rockies catcher is legit.

For sure. A few things:

1. The other day I criticized Adames and he's hit two bombs since.
2. As you know from your time on this coast, the games are late. Fell asleep in the 7th the last two nights and missed the comebacks.
3. team is lucky. Fools gold. They suck
Doval's track record when entering in a non-save situation is enough to have made me put Hjelle in in the 9th inning...my wife had to hear me with that prediction, then the torture that ensued...should have just sat him down when we added that 4th run...but, "he was hot, and had to go in!". Him being "warmed up", and struggling through a 26 pitch inning are totally different things.
