Moving on, who else is really looking forward to seeing Jung Hoo Lee back in action?!! Really liked what I saw from him in his limited time last season...his energy and all around what he brought to the team. Watching him play and also, can Ramos continue to be an impact player like the development we saw in him last season?

Trying to get excited for baseball season and Giants baseball. A little difficult after a tough football season and then seeing the Dodgers again adding some top talent to their already loaded lineup. F**k the Dodgers, though - always!

its too bad he got hurt, I just dont know if hes a mlb hitter, obviously defensively he is. He needs to improve his obp if anything and work on stealing bases. Hopefully hes hitting in the bottom of the lineup in the beginning of the year, coming back from a shoulder injury can be rough early on

Lee has the speed to be a good base stealer but he needs to work on his ability to read the pitchers moves so he can get a better jump. His base stealing record wasn't great in Korea considering the speed he has. I agree that we haven't seen enough of him to know if he's a MLB hitter long term. Once they get a book on you it's common to see averages go down.

chapman effect, from maria guardado. also a look at adames:

The Giants will be relying on Adames and third baseman Matt Chapman, who signed a six-year, $151 million extension in September, to continue to set the tone for the club moving forward. Adames said he's already looking forward to playing alongside Chapman, a five-time Gold Glove winner who should help make life easier for him at shortstop.

"I've never had that before," Adames said. "He already told me, 'You don't have to worry about the backhand.' I'm like, 'Man, I just have to work on my glove side.' I don't even have to worry about my backhand. It just gives you more confidence to be out there."

I'll admit, I love hearing that kind of s**t.

The infield is going to be very good. We just need Eldridge to come up and solidify 1B.
Just seen that Vlad Jr. and the blue jays couldn't come to a contract agreement, sounds like he's intending to hit Free Agency next year. If the blue jays were smart, they would trade his ass.

His defnse needs work. I would rather see him play an entire season in AAA to work on that defense and hone his hitting even more. He's only 20 so they don't need to rush him. I hope they don't screw him up like they have so many other prospects. Give him a full season in one spot. He was rushed through 3 different levels last season.

Im sure posey will let him grow since he has the same perspective as a player.

I certainly hope so. I hear his hitting is good enough already so I hope they aren't tempted to make him the DH.

Funny, Manfred says the Dodgers are just doing what the system allows. No kidding. Noone is arguing that fact, idiot. The argument is the system is totally broken because it needs some kind of salary cap version to begin with.
KNBR is in Arizona doing their annual broadcasts form spring training. I've never been able tomake a trip down there but I hear it's worth the time for any true baseball fan. It's also a chance for much of the country to get away from bad wether. Combined it's a way to lift your spirits.

Yes, I've been to one. My daughter lived in Scottsdale for a couple of years working for the medical research facility post her PhD. It was right around the time one year I had visited her. It is great. Not to mention the weather, from baseball standpoint being without the game for 4+ months and the new anticipation with every team starting at ground 0. And the flicker for the miracle of "2021", although these days that flicker is on life support until proven otherwise. Yeh, so even looking at the boring mechanical "ground balls" routine under the sun is kind of in the different spotlight.

I have never quite understood the hype of spring training. The games are meaningless as far as team standings obviously, you don't even get to see the starters play that much, and it's pretty expensive.

I lived in Surprise, AZ for 10 years and the Rangers/Royals Spring training facility was like 10 minutes from my house and I never went to a game there lol. I did go to 2 or 3 in Scottsdale, and 1 in Glendale for Giants/dodgers. That dodgers game costed just as much as a regular season game would. And it was in the 90s outside already. If I'm going to sit in direct sunlight in 90+ temps for 3 hours, it better be a better game than an overpriced preseason game.

Just my opinion though. I get why people like it, I just feel like it's overrated though.
