2025 San Francisco Giants Season Thread

The Giants problem has been developing the guys they pick. Luciano was a top prospt and they messed him up the way they handled him. Moving him up to the majors and sitting him on the bench for long periods when he needed to be playing. Kind of did the same with Matos but he wasn't considered to be the prospect that Luciano was.

Part of the problem is they've been so starved for a young star that they've rushed some of them. I've always felt that when a player is brought up he needs to be given ample time to show what he can do. Give him 40 or 50 games. They can't expect every kid to tear it up right from the start.

Just read the first sentence of this wall of text; no s**t

A couple things.....

1) I now believe Roki is going to sign with Toronto. I'd bet on it.

2) If he ends up signing with the Dodgers, it's yet another reason why people who mocked me in this thread (looking at you 99 amongst others) were the ones who are wrong when I said that I would have offered Ohtani 10 years/$1B. That will mean youbg 2 front line starting pitchers will have chosen to play with Ohtani.

Imagine a rotation of:

Webb
Ohtani
Yamamoto
Roki

With a little bit of hitting, that team could do damage. Instead we have Webb and a bunch of hasbeens or young unproven starters.

Back to the Billion Dollar idea.....the Giants would have come close to recouping the entirety of that contract already had we signed him.

Maybe add Burnes to that rotation by paying him $300M for 6 years. He'd come here instead of AZ.
You are dreaming. How would Giants ownership pay for this team? I am talking Webb, Ohtani, Yamamoto, Lee, Chapman and Adames just to start with. Even if you exclude Roki (for now).

gotta spend coin to make coin. ohtani costs the dodgers money but he also makes the dodgers money. an insane amount of money.

Ohtani is only costing them $1 million per year for the next few years. Then at the end of the ten years he gets' $69 million per year. Even with inflation that's a lot for a player that probably won't be playing anymore.

By using the money they would be printing from having Ohtani on the team. Pretty simple.

I would say who cares, but sports thrive when there is a superteam/ Villain

Problem is there has to be some sort of chance another team can beat them. I dont really see that happening in a series against the dodgers.

oh come on. they won how many rings, a fake ring in 2020 and another ring. we have more rings this century. MLB isn't like NBA you can't just impose your dominance. gotta have timely hitting and pitching. half the time they get to October and their rotation is messed up no matter what they do. that's how Arizona put it on these guys that year.

Any team can get hot and carry that momentum for sure. You need timely plays in any sports. I think the dodgers are setting themselves up to get more of that with they way they are constructing their roster.

But MLB fans will be salivating (just like us) if the dodgers choke in the playoffs.
Don't worry guys. The Dodgers rotation isn't any better than the Giants and starters don't matter anyway. It's all about relief pitching. Just ask Catchmaster. LOL

Ohtani
Snell
Yamamoto
Glasnow
Sasaki
