One of the craziest wins I've seen in a long time. Snell enters the 7th with a perfect game. Giants take a 2 run lead into the 9th. Doval blows the lead. Yaz who has been struggling with performance and injuries hits a triple and the Twins who are a solid team this year throw the relay into the dugout. Game over.
For whatever reason Doval hasn't been the same this year .Maybe the all star selection last year and the light show when he comes in this year got in his head. Maybe the Giants should consider using Ryan Walker as the closer after the all star game. He's been much better than Doval this year. His ERA is half of Doval's. Hs WHIP is much better and his SO to BB ration is way better. It can't hurt and it may wake up Doval.

You can criticize all you want. Soler has been the more disappointing of the 2 but neither is that far off what their career averages are. Criticize them but rip the front office more. After another off season of saying they were going to go after some big names they failed and settled for the leftovers. Leftovers are only good the day after Thanksgiving. Chapman has performed well on defense after getting off to a bad start. He has 10 errors but only 4 since May 4. Soler is not giving the type of power we were hoping for and as a DH that's all he can contribute.

Yaz .241 8 HRs 31 RBI (220 ABs)
Champman .235 13 HRs 43 RBI (358 ABs)
Yaz 3.7 million
Chapman 18 million
138 less at bats and the numbers are pretty close. You know what isn't close? Their salary.

Good win after Doval blew the save. Such a weird team…will have a good series win and then an inexplicable bad series right after. First half has shown to be the definition of a .500 team. Hopefully with Snell finally coming around and also getting SP help from guys like Cobb & maybe Ray they'll play more consistent better ball.
Guys like Chapman and Soler have been more of a disappointment IMO. Chapman is just so streaky at the plate…way too many swing and misses and just not punishing mistake pitches enough.

James Tibbs OF
Great pick!!! Hopefully. LOL
Scouting grades: Hit: 60 | Power: 55 | Run: 40 | Arm: 50 | Field: 50 | Overall: 55
After an all-state career at Pope High School in Georgia, Tibbs headed to Florida State for college ball. He's done nothing but hit with the Seminoles, with a combined 1.066 OPS over his first two seasons, including hitting 17 homers and slugging .682 as a sophomore in 2023. He put himself even more on the Draft map by continuing to rake with a wood bat, hitting .303/.390/.472 with six homers in the Cape Cod League over the summer, then vaulted into the first-round landscape with a huge junior campaign.
It will be Tibbs' bat that gets him drafted in the first few rounds. The left-handed hitter is confident and smart at the plate, with an approach he's improved over his time at Florida State, cutting his strikeout rate and upping his walk rate considerably from his freshman to his sophomore seasons, and even more so this spring. He punishes fastballs and has been showing the ability to get to his average power and drive the ball to all fields, though he's struggled more with breaking stuff in the past.

Nice!
For once I got one right....since few star free-agent hitters want to sign with us, we need to draft our own! Thought Tibbs had moved out of our range with his monster College World Series.

I remember Giants message boards just absolutely blowing up with rage after the Giants drafted Posey instead of Justin Smoak and Bumgarner instead of Beau Mills.

Liking it! Team needs more homegrown hitting talent & hopefully Tibbs turns out to be just that as a pro.
