Comforto with OBP of .295 seems to usually get a bit of a pass...In '17, '18 and '19 he totaled 88 homers and an OBP of around .370. Yaz hitting .215. And we wanna talk playoffs? Playoffs?

We're only 10 games away from the halfway point. They need to win today or they will very likely be under .500 at that point. I know it's not a huge deal but being .500 at the halfway point is kind of indicative of what kind of team you are.

The last 7 seasons have produced one team that was over .500. That was when they had that crazy year and won 107 games because everyone over achieved. They weren't that good as we've seen since. They're never so bad that they end up with the worst record in the league. They just hang round the middle teasing the fans with an occasional small win streak. At the end of the year the front office can say it was just some unfortunate injuries to key players that kept them out of the playoffs.

I love the Giants and watch almost every game. I have since they began televising them. I just wish they could get on a run like the Niners or the Warriors where they are among the best teams every year. Even when they won 3 series in 5 seasons they weren't the best team. I don't believe they were favored to win any of those years. Wins are wins and I'm grateful for those 3 but it would be nice to feel like they're the best team on the field instead of a patchwork of old broken down players and minor leaguers.

no pass from me, he's a coward that didn't want to bet on himself and opt out of his overpriced contract. he can eat a bag of dicks for all I care...

Uh what? You say his contract is overpriced AND he should have opted out of it? So he is a coward because he didn't choose to make half of his money.

Only an idiot would risk half to try and get an extra 5%.

Not your typical minorleague call up. He's had a strange journey to get to the big leagues. At 29 I hope he can stay around for some time.
